Something new from IKEA, this is the Bastis Blond scratching post and climbing tree. This is a large item, standing almost 71 inches tall. Made of rattan on a steel frame, the tree mounts to the wall with the shelves hidden behind the large scratching surface. You’ll have to make a trip to your closest IKEA to check it out in person, since it is only available in stores.

Yet another reason I am sad that the closest Ikea is 5 hours away…

My cat loves this. He climbs all over it and sleeps on it most of the time.

Just installed this yesterday. I paid like $90 bucks for it, but it was easy to put together and to mount to the wall. The cats like it, but they seem to miss their old vertical climbing post that occupied the spot previously. (After 2 years they had shredded it.)
I’m off to the hardware store to get some 4″ PVC pipe for another climbing pole. I do think they will grow to love the Ikea tree. One nice side benefit – it smells really good!

I just picked this up yesterday. While my cats seemed to enjoy scratching at the bottom, climbing on it is incredibly awkward for them. Only one of my cats has been able to climb to the top, and once she got there she could barely get back down. Definitely seems to be designed for smaller cats and kittens in mind. I’m not entirely displeased with it though, since it was purchased as more of a scratching post than anything.

We just got a new kitten, but prior to him joining us I saw this at Ikea and I was all over it. I went out and bought Green photo frames and placed them around the upper end is if to make the shrubs of the tree and the base as the tree trunk. To make a long story short, it brought a smile to my face the day that our new kitten got home and he climbed stright up the post and was hanging out at the top. It’s nice to see art work on the wall (Tree) with a little Tiger hanging out on a branch. Better than having a rug covered post as an eyesore in the corner of the room.

My cats love this! It was definitely worth the money because they scratch on it instead of my couch or the carpet. I’ve had it over a year and it still looks great.

My cat loves this thing. If you bounce a toy on the front, she’ll leap up and climb up to attack it. Much cheaper than other similar things (a little more than 80 bucks), so a great value.

My cat Eddy loves his IKEA tree. He was a bit intimidated at first but now he’s king of the castle and he now knows it’s for scratching too! I got it for £25 instead of £65 with an IKEA family card.
