It's less costly, but not quite as nice looking. However, the shelves are bigger - 8 1/2 inches wide x 17 inches long - which I think my cat would like better. And most of all, all the items coming out are practically designer furniture so you don't mind having them in the main room to keep "your" furniture free of cat destruction. The climber for the door and other modern cat innovations are excellent in so many way and reasons.
