Hammacher Schlemmer has an over the door climber as well. It's less costly, but not quite as nice looking. However, the shelves are bigger - 8 1/2 inches wide x 17 inches long - which I think my cat would like better. Has anyone tried the HS one or compared it to the Cat Climber?

I absolutely agree. I have one at home and my cat loves it, it looks good and she does not touch my other furniture because she prefers to scratch that sisal ladder than anything else. Thanks!

The climber for the door and other modern cat innovations are excellent in so many way and reasons.

1) The Climber great for renters that do not want to make holes in the wall for other items available and we ALL have some kind of door it will work with (sliders, accordion etc).

2) You attach it to the door and poof it is out of the way, off the floor and hidden and out of the way especially for small spaces.

And most of all, all the items coming out are practically designer furniture so you don't mind having them in the main room to keep "your" furniture free of cat destruction.
