I would be delighted if you could offer tips on litterbox placement in small, urban apartments. We have two cats and a 500 sq foot apartment and have never been happy with litter box placement. Even better if the solution is affordable and does not require construction skills!

Yay! I’m currently using Yesterday’s News because it’s “natural” and reduces tracking, but I’m curious about other natural litters out there. I’ve done so much research and I always find it tiresome, so it’d be nice to get some new perspectives on the issue.
I’ve also heard a lot about the litter locker, and I’m trying to decide if I should get one.
Anyway, looking forward to it!

I would be very interested in hearing about flushable litter. Arm & Hammer used to make a flushable litter that smelled really fresh (not like pine or unscented like the rest seems to be). I swore by that littler for a few years and now it has been discontinued. If anyone has any other scented flushable litters that they liked, I’d love to hear about it!

Yes! I cannot seem to find a litter that one of my cats likes accept the Dr.Elsey’s cat attract clay litter, which is horrible in all other respect. She likes pellets that don’t have scent, but I don’t like how you cannot dispose of ALL the leftovers and the smell builds up.
I’d LOVE to find a natural, flushable, clumping litter that she’ll use.
I really like World’s Best, but she won’t use it
Using Healthy Pet paper / pellet combo and BOTH of my kitties don’t like it.
Haven’t tried Sweat Scoop yet.
I’m looking forward to all your discoveries in litter land!

Really nice scoop there. Where’d you get it?

We live in a small apartment in NYC and have two cats – and just got another kitten. We trained the two older ones to use the toilet with a device called Citikitty – it really worked and is awesome – no more box and no more litter – when training you use flushable litter (we use world’s best litter) – now we bought another to train the kitten – you put an insert in the bowl, fill with a bit of litter, and poke out concentric rings until there is virtually nothing left. We do have two bathrooms, so that is convenient since we left the last ring on the toilet as a “reminder.” Not sure if this would work with older cats, but it is definately worth a try.

The Litterchamp disposal unit is the best litter disposal product on the market. I have 3 cats and have used this product for several years and would be lost without it. I had previously tried the Litter Locker, but the Litterchamp is so much easier to use, empty, clean and refill that I can’t imagine anyone preferring the Litter Locker.

I use Swheat Scoop and I love it! It’s unscented and isn’t dusty like clay litters are. It also clumps very well and is flushable! They even have a Multi-Cat formula that clumps firmer and faster than their regular brand. My cats love it, too

Absolutely love your website! We have four rescue cats and five litter pans. We bought the top entry “Clever Cat” pans and use Dr. Elsey’s litter. Now we’re worried about the dangers of clumping clay litter. (Thanks to catmom.com.) We look forward to your new review of litter to help us decide on a healthier choice. Thanks again for your wonderful website.

These litter “boxes” are so modern, I didn’t even know about them.
They would be a great “gift” for me and my cats. I would love to win
the LitterPod. Thanks for having Litter Week.

Hi,
I just wanted to let you know that I am using the best organic litter. I once used “Worlds Best Cat Litter” but found even with using that and a deodorizers that I could still smell the cat box. I have two cats and I clean their box daily. I now use the brand “Natures Miracle” its a pine cat litter that clumps and it works terrific. I don’t need to use any deodorizer’s and the cats love it. It smells very much like a xmas pine tree when I go in there to change the littler and I’ve tried almost everything and this seemed to be the best so far. I got this litter at Petco in Quincy, Ma and I don’t know if you can order it. My only warning on it is that seeing it is pine the outer bag gets kind of gummy when you handle it so be prepared to get a little dirty when you buy it and pick it up, but its well worth it. Let me know how you review this and if it comes out on your top list because its definitely a top litter of mine!
Thanks for all your tips!
Best,
Amber
