Odorzout: The BEST Way to Eliminate Odors Naturally BONUS GIVEAWAY!
Filed under Household Cleaning, Litter & Hygiene by moderncat at 4:00 am on Nov 12 2008

Every cat owner fights the constant battle against odor. I have tried everything on the market to eliminate odors from carpets, furniture, fabrics, litter boxes, etc. and finally I found Odorzout. This is a product that I am totally addicted to, which is why I was so excited when I met Dr. Stink himself at a recent Pet Expo. I was even more excited when I found out that Odorzout is based right here in Phoenix, so I made an appointment to head over there and talk to Dr. Stink about just why Odorzout is so great.

I arrived at the Odorzout headquarters to find an impeccable facility. This photo is of the assembly line where the products are packaged and prepared for sale. Odorzout is made from a special blend of Zeolites, which are all-natural, non-toxic minerals that absorb and eliminate unpleasant odors. Dr. Stink explained that each of the products in the Odorzout line uses a special combination of Zeolites that are optimized for a specific use. The products include:
- All Surface Granules - Great for use on carpets, furniture, bedding, carriers, etc.
- Cat Litter Additive - For use in the litter box and can also be used directly on a pet
- Laundry Additive Powder - Toss some in with your laundry to remove odors while washing
- Pet Pouches - A convenient way to keep an area or even a gym bag fresh between application of the other products
During my visit, I told Dr. Stink about a recent experience I had with the Odorzout products. I’ve been having a little problem with my senior kitty urinating on the carpet. I Spot Bot almost daily and every so often I pull out the deep cleaning machine. After a deep clean, the odor is particularly strong, because deposits in the carpet are stirred-up and now the entire carpet is damp. This time, even after the carpet dried fully, the odor was especially bad. I sprinkled the Cat All Surface Granules on the area and literally, within minutes, the odor was gone. Not masked by flowers or other fragrance, truly gone. Dr. Stink explained that Zeolites don’t mask odors like most other products, they actually absorb and eliminate the stink. That is why the products are packaged as powders or granules — the more surface area exposed to the odor, the faster it will be absorbed.
My big question about the products was “are they safe?” I was very pleased to find out that Zeolite minerals are 100% safe for pets and people, too. If your cat licks the mineral off their fur it is completely safe. Not only are Odorzout products safe, but they also received the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Design for the Environment Seal of Approval and they are the ONLY “All Natural Mineral” Odor Eliminating products approved to carry this seal. The seal officially acknowledges that Odorzout products are environmentally safe and that they adhere to strict partner guidelines that encourage the formulation of products with environmentally preferred chemistry. Odorzout was selected to receive the seal because the products’ blend of natural Zeolite minerals exhibits a more positive effect on the environment than conventional odor removers.
Odorzout products come in 30 oz bottles, as well as 1-gallon, 2-gallon, and 5-gallon buckets. One bottle will last you a very long time. Just a sprinkle in the litter box or a teaspoon in the laundry will do the trick. Check the Odorzout website to find a retailer near you or order online.

Our office needs it the worst — that’s where the cats decide to “remind” us that the litterboxes need cleaning.
2 rachel crismanon 12 Nov 2008 at 5:35 am
Wow! I need to try this product,my house stinks so bad I refuse to invite any company over. The living room is the worst room.Thats where both the dogs and the cats hang out the most but my bedroom is pretty terrible too.
3 Melissaon 12 Nov 2008 at 5:52 am
My bedroom! Due to our living situation, two of the cat boxes are in my bedroom. Add in one cat who misses the box frequently due to a medical issue… and there isn’t enough Fabreze in the world. I’d love to try these products, especially since they’re as safe as they are.
4 Hollyon 12 Nov 2008 at 6:16 am
Sounds like another fascinating product find. Thank you!
5 Chrison 12 Nov 2008 at 6:32 am
My hallway/entranceway (which is also the central location in my small condo) needs Odorzout the most, because that’s where the litterbox is. I am definitely going to check out this product - thanks for the review!
6 Alanon 12 Nov 2008 at 6:32 am
Looks like a great product. I’ve tried many other brands without success. I’d need Odorzout the most in my living room as my cat peed on the couch twice last year… and the smell still remains.
7 Sherion 12 Nov 2008 at 6:33 am
The Basement, definitely! It’s where we keep the litterboxes…unfortunately if the odor from the litter is strong it will come up through the furnace…
8 Tiffany Harveyon 12 Nov 2008 at 6:47 am
We haven’t had any odor problems with our cat (knock on wood), but my sister-in-law lives in a tiny apartment and any litterbox odor is a big problem. All of our relatives are cat lovers, and I would love to spead the products around.
9 Leandroon 12 Nov 2008 at 6:55 am
I’m having the EXACT same problem with my cat. I’ve tried pretty much everything to try to get the smell of my living room, without success. Hope I can try the product…
10 Daveon 12 Nov 2008 at 6:57 am
Our bedroom. Pixel makes some pretty nasty poops.
11 andreaon 12 Nov 2008 at 7:03 am
I’d love the ‘cat package’ to use to attack my guest bedroom. then, I’d feel comfortable inviting people over to stay!
12 Melissaon 12 Nov 2008 at 7:12 am
I’d also like to add my vote to Odorzout. This summer we moved into an apartment that previously had a kitty with litter box issues. Nothing would get the odor out and my cats starting peeing on top of the previous cat’s spots. We were about to break the lease to get out of the apartment when a friend recommended Odorzout. She had some of the “All Surface Granules” and lent us her bottle. It worked like magic. No more odors! No more “accidents”! One of the best products.
I would love to try the entire line of products in my “litter room” as my husband calls it (which is actually my carpeted office with a spare bed). I’m sure my mother-in-law would appreciate it when she comes to visit next month
PS - I am really enjoying “litter week.”
13 Claireon 12 Nov 2008 at 7:16 am
I would LOVE to try the litter additive because the area around the litter box (in the pantry) is the stinkiest!
14 Vanessaon 12 Nov 2008 at 7:53 am
I’d love to try the litter additive as well. Our cat Pidge never seemed to learn how to cover her poop. The stink always the worst in the kitchen. Who wants to cook then?
15 Chrison 12 Nov 2008 at 8:03 am
Most definitely the guest bathroom where the litter tray is. I need this urgently, my folks are visiting in 10 days time!
16 gailmail5on 12 Nov 2008 at 8:15 am
It’s a tossup between the living room and the bedroom…<>…ew!
17 Carrieon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:17 am
oh yes, please. this week has been amazing with litter ideas - but one cat in PARTICULAR (I’m not naming names, ROXIE) is a stinky little feline.
18 Brianon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:17 am
The laundry room–for sure!
19 edon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:17 am
all the rooms + litterbox.
20 Danielleon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:18 am
My bedroom closet, where the litterbox is kept, could really use some improvement!
21 Christineon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:19 am
I have 4 cats and 3 dogs so the entire house seems like it smells like a giant litter box/dog kennel. HELP!!!
22 mannequinon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:22 am
We live in an old house and they made bathrooms right off the kitchen then. Skitz shares that bathroom with us and between him and (ssshh.. Mr. Man…) I sure could use this!
Thanks for the chance!
23 Colleenon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:22 am
With three cats in a tiny apartment, two litter boxes, and two cats with sensitive stomachs . . . odorzout would truly be a must for our place (especially because it is not harmful to humans or cats which is hard to find in a lot of pet products)
24 Vinteron 12 Nov 2008 at 8:22 am
The “kitty litter room” (spare bedroom) needs it the most! We’ve got a couple of kitties with irritable bowel syndrome, and they tend to make some stinky poops.
25 Cherylon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:23 am
The spare bedroom! That’s where we keep the litter boxes and with 3 cats it doesn’t take long to get pretty rank. The worst part is that room is right across the hall from the kids bedrooms so they get alot of the smell wafting in there too!
26 dbon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:23 am
Thankfully my kitties are pretty good about not going anywhere except the litter boxes. However, one of my cats had a bladder infection and I still can’t get the smell out of a piece of furniture she kept peeing on. This sounds like it would do the trick!
27 Turk182on 12 Nov 2008 at 8:24 am
Ah - odors. My dear little one likes his absorbent litter for the wet stuff, but prefer to leave the solids elsewhere. While I am using various methods to train him away from those spots - and hope to eventually move to kitty using the toilet - there is still odor about - the most prominent is the bathroom, followed by a corner of the living room.
Odorzout would be great!
28 Jesson 12 Nov 2008 at 8:26 am
I would love to try this out, so happy to hear it’s a safe product too!
29 Alexison 12 Nov 2008 at 8:27 am
This sounds great!
30 Leahon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:27 am
How awesome! I can’t wait to try this with my kitties!
31 Jennieon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:28 am
Our basement family room could use this. We have an 18 year old Siamese and 15 year old Marmalade who are both very well behaved about using the litter boxes, but, boy are they stinky.
32 Jennaon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:28 am
I’m a renter and I have a nice (but small) carpeted pantry area that I decided to turn into the litter box room… due to lack of other options. I removed the doors and hung a curtain to make it easily accessible, but now that the doors are gone, my kitchen and my living room are often stinky, especially after my biggest girl, Miss. Kitty, does her business (she’s the stinkiest cat I’ve ever met!). I’d love to try this out!
33 Kristyon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:29 am
My kitties have a closet that holds their litter boxes, and thankfully the door is only open a small amount because WHOO! sometimes stink wafts out and fills the apartment. I’d love to try kitty box additive to keep that odor down. Thanks for all of the great info during litter week - I can’t wait for treat week!
34 Sarahon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:29 am
Which room? The only room I’ve got! I live in a studio loft, so the only “room” is the bathroom and the rest of the apartment is wide open to let you enjoy any odor from one part of the apartment everywhere you go!
I have two cats, one of whom likes to taunt me by peeing RIGHT NEXT to the litter box occassionally. I can’t really hide the second (and most frequently used) litter box because there’s no where to hide it, so unfortunately it’s pretty centrally located and it’s not exactuly unobtrusive scentwise, despite a daily cleaning!
35 Alyssaon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:29 am
The living room/closet. I live in a small condo, and I have had to be creative in litter box placement due to living in such a small space. I converted the coat closet that opens into the living room into a litter/storage area. There are two lextra large itter boxes (used by four cats) on the floor and metal shelving on top to hold litter and other cat supplies. The door is cracked open at all times so the cats can get in. However, when the litter needs scooped, I can smell it across the entire living room! This product would surely help.
36 Sydneyon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:29 am
The dining room, which is actually used as a storage room, because that’s where one of the litter of boxes is, and it’s near the front door. I’m going to give this a try.
37 MrsMelvinon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:31 am
OMG! I need this, please! I have several former fosters from working with the Dane County Friends of Ferals and now have 6 furbabies that have a forever home with me. In spite of cleaning the boxes every day, those little rascals still manage to make messes and miss the boxes. Our spare bedroom needs this the most since it’s basically their room. I would love to try this product! If it works, they’d have a life long customer for sure!
38 Roberta Harwellon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:31 am
This product would be great for us. We currently have 3 cats and 1 dog in the house. I am constantly cleaning and using all types of products to keep the smell down and in control. I love all the products that have been featured this week. Thanks for the contest.
39 Jessieon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:31 am
Has anyone tried odorzout on hardwood? Most of the available odor products are for carpet so I am never sure if I can use them on wood- and I have a pee-er. Has anyone found a good product for wood/tile floors? I use nature’s miracle now, but it only sort of works.
40 Nancy Gon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:32 am
We adopted three rescued kittens from the same litter. The two tabbies are the stinkiest cats I’ve ever known. Their sister, the tortie, does not have this problem. Max is the stinkiest, and he is the lap cat and a real love. He adores and feels his purpose in life is to snuggle with me. So I get stinky clothes, stinky hands, stinky sofa…all from sweet Max. Your product sounds like the perfect solution. Help! Pleeeeeze!! PS They have all been to the vet and this is not a medical problem.
41 Monaon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:33 am
You could save my house and wallet if I win this. I have a landing between stairs that has a horrible urine smell. I have tried everything to rid the smell and feel I might have to get new carpet for the whole house in order to fix a small area since it is the same carpet everywhere!
42 Sonia Zjawinskion 12 Nov 2008 at 8:35 am
Well, my entire apartment needs this! Living in a studio with three cats plus a revolving door of rescue fosters means there is no way to eliminate the odor unless I’m home and scoop up the poop as soon as it’s deposited. If I’ve run out for the day, I’m sure to come home to one pungent house.
Plus, like you, I have a carpet culprit. I think it may actually be of the canine variety as the puddles are massive. Poor 14-year-old pup can’t seem to hold it for very long these days. I’ve used Nature’s Miracle but I know it’s not doing the trick since I see the cats sniffing the formerly peed areas with interest. Would love to try this stuff!
43 Katieon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:35 am
Right now, this would be awesome to sprinkle around the secondary litter box I have in my office. Kittens seem to leave the stinkiest waste
44 Cynthiaon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:35 am
I’d love to use some product in the hallway. Even though the litterbox is in the bathroom, I smell ‘cat’ when I open my door to my apartment.
45 Sarah M...on 12 Nov 2008 at 8:37 am
Our spare bedroom needs Odorzout - that’s where the litter box is. Fortunately, there’s no carpet, but the litter box stink alone is enough to ensure we don’t actually have guests sleep in there.
46 Kristinaon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:40 am
My living room and dining room are the worst. I cannot wait to try this as it will be a lot less expensive then replacing the carpet. Like Rachel, I cannot invite anyone over because of the smell.
47 Maryannon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:42 am
The room that I need the most help with is the “cat” room. This room houses the 3 litter boxes for my 3 cats. But it seems as though neither the 2 girls or 1 boy has very good aim !They’re constantly missing the boxes and the pee is on the carpet. The “cat” room is located near 2 bedrooms, which needless to say, the odor from their accidents seems to gravitate towards ! Please, help me ! Help my cats ! Their aim might not improve, but I know the odor will with the help of these products !
48 Nitaon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:43 am
Well, almost my whole house needs Odorzout but the hall does the most. I’m very glad to know about the safety of the minerals used. Thanks!
49 Sylvia Percyon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:45 am
This sounds great!
50 Cathyon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:45 am
The sunroom and my office - they’re carpeted and get peed and pooped on all the time because they’re carpeted. no one ever goes to the bathroom on the hardwood floors in the rest of the apartment but always in the carpeted rooms. I’ve tried everything and there’s still always a faint odor left - especially in the sunroom which unfortunately also doubles as a guest room when I have people over.
51 Mayaon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:46 am
first i want to say i am really loving this litter week. though most of the products are out of my reach since i live in israel and no one imports them nevertheless since i am planing on going to school in the US in about two years this week helps me get acquainted with the different products that are sold in the US
so thank you for teaching me
and let’s see the room that is the smelliest is by far the extra room where i keep both litter boxes. one of my cats urine is really acidic so it smells when you open the box to clean it. my eyes tend to water and go into over blink :-]
52 Chanieon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:47 am
If this stuff actually works, it will be a godsend. We’ve gone so far as to remove all of the carpets from our house, with a few small areas still on the to-do list. We’re trying to bring back a couple area rugs, but our senior girl can’t seem to resist. Carpet cleaners and chemicals only do so much…
53 Amberon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:49 am
What a neat little operation, looks like they have got it together. We would definately need this in the bathroom. That is where the litter box is and our kitties don’t always cover their little droppings properly. It would be nice to be able to add this to the box for optimum odor elimination.
54 Jessicaon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:49 am
I have 4 cats (and one big dog), and it’s constantly a battle to ensure that all the litter boxes don’t smell!
55 Amyon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:50 am
WOW! Wish this had been around when my cat had an accident on the brand new chair. It look 3 bottles of odor remover and 2 weeks sitting outside before the chair smelled good again. But my biggest problem is the area where the litter box is. It sits in the room where the heater/ac is located and on certain days the smell from the litterbox wafts through the house rather than just smelling up that room. Can’t wait to buy and try!
56 laurieon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:51 am
this sounds like a great product….I need to try it. My litter box room needs to de-smell the most..
57 Eleutheraon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:55 am
The bedroom currently needs it most, because our kitten has peed on the bed several times. Once we give her free reign of the living room, though, I’m sure the couches will need it as well.
58 Katherine D.on 12 Nov 2008 at 8:56 am
my living room needs these products the most: it’s where the litterbox lives, where any (ahem) problems resulting from the litterbox tend to occur, where most of the vomiting occurs, and where most of the play occurs!
59 Jessicaon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:57 am
So versatile! And eco-friendly, I would use this everywhere! It’s nice not having to worry about whether how my cat will react.
60 Sheila Grosson 12 Nov 2008 at 8:57 am
MY front hall, unfortunately, is the site of peeing on th4e carpet, despite having a litter box there! Miss Smoochie just isn’t litter box reliable, and the wall-to-wall, which really wasn’t supposed to be there in the first place (they forgot to order the lino tiles) sometimes gets hosed.
Also, my youngest male sprays! The other day I had to launder a whole pile of clean bedding that he backed up to. Some days I feel like wringing his neck.
61 Terrieon 12 Nov 2008 at 8:57 am
Sounds like an awesome product! I love that it’s safe for pets and is all natural. I could definitely use this in the bathroom, where the litter box is
62 Erinon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:00 am
I’m so glad I’m not the only one with a kitty that makes some rather interesting smells.
63 Julia Williamson 12 Nov 2008 at 9:01 am
What a great product! If I had to use it in a particular room, I’d have to say my living room as I have two cats, two boxes and even though I keep up with the scooping (twice a day), anything to help with the smells is always a plus. More importantly, I might consider using this occasionally on one of my cats, as one used to be obese, has since lost lots of weight and sometimes still have trouble reaching all of the necessary parts when grooming. Eventually he gets it all but it might mean he’s a little uh, fragrant for a few days.
64 Lauraon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:01 am
Sounds cool! I’d tried Planet Urine products most recently. I’m not entirely convinced of their effectiveness and I’m CERTAIN they are not particularly “safe”. I would love to try the Odorzout product in my general laundry since 1 of my 4 cats occasionally decides she’d rather pee on something soft instead of in her box
She has also peed on my couch, but I’ve recently replaced that. I hope there’s not a continued problem!!
65 Vikon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:04 am
Just when I thought I would have to replace the carpet with hardwood! This might be a great option.
66 Stephanie S.on 12 Nov 2008 at 9:04 am
The bathroom and our bedroom! It’s awful… we live in a cement loft (which is awesome), but the overall layout is a bit odd. To get to the bathroom (the only “convenient” place to put our litter box), you have to walk through our bedroom. We also have a window problem of either have no screens or simply not functioning, so we can’t easily open windows to get fresh air.
When one of our kitties leaves a “present” the stink hangs around the bathroom, spreads to the bedroom, and then goes out into the living room/kitchen area. It’s awful. Even hours after the so-called “present,” I find pockets of odor just lingering in dark corners. It’s terrible, so terrible.
67 Cassieon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:05 am
Thank you for giving each of us a chance to win this amazing product.
68 Debra Bashfordon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:11 am
The laundry room!! That’s where our kitty’s litter box is.
69 jeanetteon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:12 am
Having 6 cats in the house, we have multiple litter areas that I would love to try this product on - living room, bathroom, etc. I have one cat that pees where my 18 year old cat did - so it would be great to finally get rid of any smells that remain, and hopefully break his habit.
If it gets rid of litter box smells, I wonder if it would also get rid of the skunk? My dogs have not yet figured out that skunks are not play toys!!
70 Stephanie S.on 12 Nov 2008 at 9:13 am
Also, has anyone tried Pet-Clear Crystals?
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3261+1926+19117+2960&pcatid=2960
I’m curious, but now I think I might try Odorz-Out first…
71 Stacey Taylor-Kaneon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:15 am
Our landing needs it, ’cause that’s where the litter box is. Bella and Mia never have accidents… but, some times they kick out little “surprises” onto the carpet. I would LOVE to give this product a chance
72 Kiion 12 Nov 2008 at 9:15 am
This stuff sounds fantastic. If I win (and even if I do not, I am buying some), I will use Oderz out in our bathroom which also houses our two litterboxes. Because of one kitty’s asthma and environmental concerns, we use Feline Pine Clumping. It’s pretty good for a natural littler (we tried several! and the cats do not do pellets). But, it doesn’t contain the super-stink of the poo-bomb terribly well. I recently had a friend tell me my apartment smelled like “cat.” It made me pretty sad
My husband and I try hard to keep the boxes clean! I’m sure my carpets could all use it too. And my mom’s house! She would love this stuff. Guess she will be getting a random present
73 Danaon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:17 am
We could use this in our bedroom - one of our cats will not poop in the box and seems to have settled on a spot in our room. We would love to be able to breathe more deeply!
74 Brookeon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:17 am
it’s not so much a room, as a specific piece of furniture that is in desperate need—- our couch!!!! it has been beat to death with nature’s miracle, dumb cat, woolite…. and the smell still lingers.
75 JoAnnon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:21 am
We use Yesterday’s News cat litter cause it’s less tracking but, it gets real stinky, real fast. Know it’s the pee factor and want to see if Odorzout will help!
76 Kellyon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:23 am
My office needs it the most. This is the room that the litter box stays in because the kitties sleep in here at night and need to use the facilities. There is also a food odor from spills onto the floor while they chow down. This product seems too good to be true! I would love to find out for myself how amazing it is.
77 Kateon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:23 am
My basement is my bedroom and it stinks of the cats!
78 Saraon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:25 am
I would love to get this for my mother’s house. She has a front hallway and dining room which need help.
79 Jasonon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:29 am
The litter box is in the fire pit, which is part of my living room. It’s also right near the front door, and visitors could use a nicer greeting!
80 Cathieon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:31 am
My under the stairs closet! I have 4 cats and 2 litter boxes (large bins actually) in this closet. The problem is one tall cat who walks into the bin and pees standing up. And sometimes he doesn’t know his back half isn’t in the bin yet! I have to make sure I shut the door before I let anyone in the house.
81 Kelseyon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:31 am
litter that is good for my cat and the environment? sign me up!!!

83 Michaelon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:32 am
Thank you moderncat for exposing cat lovers around the world to such wonderful products as this one!
84 Carly Meyeron 12 Nov 2008 at 9:35 am
I initally had the litter box downstairs…but, the smell from the “kitty-stuff” was just WAY too strong…maybe because I have a male. :S So, I ended up moving the box to my bathroom…but, living in an open loft layout…the scents flow way TOO easily from space to space. So, what I can smell in the bathroom…can be smelled in the bedroom (doesn’t help when trying to sleep) as well as the kitchen (doesn’t help for hunger).
Please help!!
85 Jenniferon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:36 am
I would love to try it for our bathroom where we keep one of the litter boxes. And for the office, where we have carpet.
86 Jinhoon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:36 am
We kept our litter box right outside the porch and left the slide door open enough for our kitties to pass, but because it’s getting cold we had to move the litter box inside. The litter box stinks and I’m not sure what to do. Help us Dr. Stink!
87 Lindaon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:36 am
I have used Odorzout on many things throughout the years, about 16 years. Once we had a dead raccoon in our attic at our cottage, which of course, we didn’t know about until we could smell it. I honestly could not believe we were able to get rid of that odor; but Odorzout worked great! A couple of times my cat was skunked; I sprinkled odorzout directly on her and rubbed it in, and within an hour she was bearable. I’ve also used it on musty smelling books, poker chips, my basement. It’s done wonders. I use it in the laundry, especially for my towels. I love this product!

Need this product in my bathroom where my sr. citizen kitty who has chronic renal failure occasionally misses her box.

I would love to have this product. Our one cat, Pocatalico (AKA Pokey) has an occasional unpleasant odor. This would make the kitties all that much more enjoyable addition to our home.

I have four cat friends and four plus cat boxes and I work from home. Just a constant battle to keep the odor down. Since I can’t open any windows now this sounds like a great solution. Get me in the drawing please!!

I would like to win the free sample package for my sister. She has MS so has trouble cleaning all these spots. She has one cat that is elderly who just goes wherever she is and one cat who pees in her laundry basket. Her house smells really bad and I’d like to help her out, ODORZOUT that is.

We could use Odorzout in the TV room where a very nervous kitty marked the couch repeatedly.

I have three dogs and two cats. And they live in a carpeted, enclosed room between my house and my office. When it rains, they drag in serious soggy mud. Wet dogs/cats in an enclosed carpeted area is a guaranteed formula for some serious smell. I sprinkled Odorzout all over the place. (Over the dogs, too. The cats didn’t like being sprinkled.) The smell disappeared within about 60 seconds. Pretty amazing stuff.

My 17 year old kitty Pork Chop has chronic renal failure and he doesn’t always use the box. Our house is old, and there are cracks in the hardwood floor and the baseboards, especially in the bedroom and the bathroom. I would love to try this product, thanks!

We live in a 2 bedroom apartment, which has very little storage space. Soo..the litter box lives in the bathroom, since that is the room that is “supposed” to have questionable smells, as well as a fan. It could definitely use some help!!!

My office is definitely in need of some OdorZout! we have two lovely felines here to keep us company…however, they tend to leave us presents in the showroom when they aren’t satisfied with the litter box maintenance.
97 Lauraon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:50 am
Sounds like a great product! I could use some in the litter boxes in my “cat room”. Would love to try it on carpet mishaps too!

The office. I turned the closet into the litter room with a mouse hole door to admit the cats so I can keep the closet door closed. Out of sight, out of mind until the smell hits me.

Our bathroom needs it the worse - one of our cats is very high strung and whenever she has a panic attack she runs to the bathroom, into the linen closet and pisses all over the place.

We could use the Odorzout in our sun porch where the litter is located. unfortunately one of our cats missed the box quite frequently and the floor has absorbed the odor. Thank you for this!

I wold use Odorzout in cats bedroom, sometimes the odor is so terrible. Probably with this product teh problem will be solved.
102 Amy Russellon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:57 am
With 6 cats this definitely will come in handy for sure. I think it’s great that you actually went to the factory and interviewed Mr Stink (lol)
103 Jessicaon 12 Nov 2008 at 9:57 am
Oh man my bedroom could use this stuff. Thats where my cats have their beds that are kinda funky after a year….I even washed their bed they lay in in the window to get sun…but it didn’t quite get the smell off.

Oh my gosh - how great! I need some of this. Hopefully there is a store near me or I’ll have to order it online. tinawittmer(at)yahoo(dot)com

its sounds great - I have a new rescued kitty (a street stray named Oscar) who is very stinky. His housemate is less stinky, but has been called the “aphyxiator” on occasion.

Our bathroom is tiny and the box under the sink is stinky!

My cat bed is in horrible shape. I always try to keep it clean but its hard to get rid of that smell.

This seems to be a great product and epa approved EVEN BETTER as i am a tree huger. I do have 1 concern thought. I have a baby kitten that i believe has respiratory problems , she seems to sneeze a lot when i use the arm & hammer carpet freshener. Hopefully this will solve that issue!

Wow. I need that!

My bedroom/livingroom/kitchen needs this product. I recently moved into a 1 bedroom apartment that has an open layout with no doors and anytime one of my 2 cats does their business, the smell permeates throughout the place for a little bit. I have Wallflowers from Bath & Body Works to cover the smell, but this product looks amazing since it absorbs and doesn’t just mask the odor.
112 Vikki C.on 12 Nov 2008 at 10:28 am
I have an elderly cat who is just like yours, so I really could use this product for my whole house! However, the area of my house that could use this product the most would be the couch that all the cats insist on sleeping, and throwing up hairballs on. Even though I keep up with cleaning up the mess and Febreeze’ing it regularly, it still stinks!

my basement needs some help immediately. i have a dog and a cat and both seem to compete with each other on using the basement when they can sneak down. we also had flood damage down there which just spread the smells out everywhere. i spot clean and steam vac allll the time! i need help!

One of my cats (Fonzie) appears to be allergic to Odorban (very bad skin irritation) - would he be allergic to OdorZout to?
115 Kellyon 12 Nov 2008 at 10:36 am
Help! I am in dire need of this product, as I live in a super-small 1bd, and the only spot for the litter box is in the kitchen/living/dining area. With two cats, even despite cleaning out the box 1 - 2 times per day, it can get pretty stinky.

We recently moved to a new apartment, and the only place were we could “hide” his litter box was in the kitchen. It seemed like a good idea, until he actually used it! It’s next to the fridge, so it seems that every time we open and close the door fridge, we’re encapsulating the smell with the food!
118 Lisaon 12 Nov 2008 at 10:48 am
I’m embarrassed to say, it’s our dining room that needs OdorZOut! One cat decided that’s where she wanted to go to the bathroom so both litter boxes are in there. We’ve had the carpet cleaned but periodically she decides she still wants to urinate on a nice, fuzzy surface. The smell isn’t that noticeable to anyone else but I sure notice!
119 Jessicaon 12 Nov 2008 at 10:54 am
I moved into a new house which is almost purrrfect except for the extra small laundry room where I keep the litter boxes. B/c it’s extra small, it’s also extra smelly. Help Me! Please!!!

It’s SO great to find an effective odor remover that is also environmentally safe. i wont use products that aren’t okay for the environment and making sure that my babies wont be harmed by chemicals is always a worry. Thank you so much for sharing the lowdown on Odorzout, and for taking the trouble to dig deeper with your tour and meeting. It’s so great to have a champion like you in our corner and that of our kitties!

I’ve often used Nature’s Miracle and found it works pretty good on cleaning up cat urine and eliminating odor. However, I am always looking for better products that are environmentally safe. I’d love to give this try in the laundry room where our litter box is. Every so often one of our guys will miss the box and leave a landmine for us to clean up. It’s important to me to know that a product is safe for cats, humans and the environment but still actually work at sanitizing the area and eliminating odor. In a small apartment keeping litter box odor to a minimum is a must for a livable habitat!

We’d use this in Garth’s “poop alley”, which is actually a small hallway to outside off our mudroom (we live in Canada- a mudroom is critical) where Garth’s litterbox & paraphenalia reside, however it is also right beside the most used entrance to our place. How can something so small make such huge, awful smells!
