What to eat week would be great! Especially info on feeding raw, as more and more people seem to be catching on to the fact that commercial cat food may not be as good for our cats as we have been led to believe.

What about decorating for the holidays? I am always stuck on the problem on wanting a x-mas tree, but my cats chew the cords and the tree! I am constantly afraid of them knocking down the tree!

i would love to hear about healthy foods and treats. how to best take care the health of your cats. one of my cats, Clyde have bladder stones, and the vet has prescribed a couple of different foods to try help dissolve the stones, such as hill’s prescription diet s/d and royal canin s/o. it has been about 1.5 months, since Clyde has been eating this food, but he dislikes the hill’s s/d, and just started to try the royal canin s/o, and he seems to like it better. but i would like to know if it is effective or if there is something better. i would hate for Clyde to have to go through surgery to get the stones removed.

Toy week would be great! My little kitty is spoiled with expensive pretty little toys. But he ignores them all and rather play with wrappers. Toys that even picky kitties would play with would be great.

I volunteer for a couple animal groups so I would love to see both the Rescue and TNR weeks. I think those are both grand ideas. Maybe there could be a way for a bunch of us to tell about our favorite local rescue groups – and then have that organized for future use such that people can come by and see what the readers of this site have recommended for a particular area/city. Of course we can’t forget some of the national groups too!

I would also be very interested in the food week. I am still debating on what to be feeding my cats and I’m curious what other suggestions are out there.

I agree that food would be an excellent choice. It wasn’t that long ago that melamine was found in pet food, so I think it’s important for us pet owners to keep up on what’s best for our pets.

I also think that a cleaning week would be a nice idea – there are a lot of cleaning products out there for the ill-behaved feline, but it’d be nice to share that information.

Cat-scratching solutions/scratching furniture. We have bought about every type of scratcher out there for our cat (he was a rescue cat) cardboard, sisal, wood, you name it and whilst we love him to death he will only scratch on the carpet at the interface between the carpet and the floorboards and is shredding the carpet into oblivion! I’d love to hear other ideas, solutions, what works, what doesn’t work, new products etc.

Love your theme ideas!
How about things that you’re cat shouldn’t be eating!
When we took our first kitty home, he decided to eat a rubber band!
Of course this is really bad news for a cat, we were so lucky he didn’t keep it down otherwise it would have meant surgery as apparently rubber bands, string, cotton etc can knot up in the intestines and cause much pain and grief. There are so many things we didn’t know about what our gorgeous boy shouldn’t be getting into. String, wool, rubber bands etc. A little tool kit of what not to leave about would be good, or perhaps a little add on to what to eat with what NOT to eat. We a now rubber band free home!

In reply to your No. 7 reply, I have found Innova Evo the best for our cat, 100% grain free, low carbs, 95 % protein, no artificial colours or preservatives and our fussy bengal loves it. He doesn’t tolerate grains very well at all, so this product is perfect for him. He’s full of energy and his coat is amazing. And though it costs more, the high protein means he requires less of it, plus it’s worth it to know it is so high in nutrients.

perhaps kitty behavior week? as in behavior modification…i can get my cats to sit on command, but i cannot for the life of me get them to stop biting electrical cords and laying on the countertops…and we’ve tried all the normal remedies (lemon, foil, loud noises, water bottle, etc.)

Entertaining kitty would be wonderful. There are a number of cat videos available, and a review of them would be nice. Many play in a continuous loop while pet parents are away from home. Also a review of toys that really do entertain your cats would be great. Some things I have bought were definately a flop, but others, like Da Bird, are a big hit. Cat scratchers and trees would be something of interest to me, and I would like plans for making our own trees, scratchers, beds, etc.

Info on how to help a skittish kitty come out of his shell. Cricket was probably abused as a tiny baby, or abandoned. He was adopted when he was about 2 months old, which was 2.5 years ago, and he still has trouble trusting people (including his mom, who’s very loving and patient). He runs away from his mom and hates to be held. Any advice would be so useful because he’s such a good boy.

Or how to train your cat to do tricks? There are a lot of great YouTube videos showing how to teach different tricks, we’ve had a lot of fun learning them over here (Indy can do seven different tricks & learned most of them within a month).

Def. a food week (I have an older cat who is very fickle)

Or what about 12 Days of Kitty instead of 12 Days of Christmas and you could feature like a great gift for kitty or a treat for kitty or a give away

Rescue Week and TNR Week are GREAT and so, so needed! I’d also love to see a Spay & Neuter Week. Every week. And how about a Donate To A Favorite Cat Advocacy Charity Week? That would be great. Also, something about educating people about the truth of cat overpopulation and the need for personal and collective responsibility to spay/neuter and commit to a lifelong adoption of cats.

Food and treat week would be great. I have been wanting to change to grain-free foods, but they are hard to find. Reviewing the ones on the market would be great. I also like the above suggestions for exercise for indoor cats and cat blogger week. I have gathered some sites that sell a cat exercise wheel, but they are really pricey and out of reach for most of us.
