i wouldn't want my kitties to choke on that - it could get caught on something during their adventures if they're not used to it. i'd probably rig a pull-ring and risk loosing the camera but not risk my kittie's neck.

I think that is too expensive. The concept is great. But I wouldn't pay that much.

That is an absolutely brilliant idea! Is it waterproof? Perhaps they should make it send the pictures back using GPRS otherwise it could prove expensive if your cat lost it as they do tend to do with collars especially if they realise anything is attached to the collar.

I think the price is too expensive. I believe I remember the Mr Lee catcam being extremely cheap because of the high risk of loosing the camera (because we mainly want to know where our outdoors cats go) and the common need for a replacement.

Hello,

Thanks for including Cooper in your article about Cat Cams... we didn't actually make the camera ourselves, we bought a kit from Mr. Lee (http://www.mr-lee-catcam.de/index.htm). We highly recommend it!

Cheers,
Deirdre

How nifty!

It would be perfect for finding out where my cat disappears to for a couple of hours every day. She's indoor only, but she still has one secret spot left in the house, where I just can't find her.

Ah well... perhaps I should let her have some mystery.

@1 Dave: Our female cat is similar. She'll lick at a collar until it loosens enough to get it off. They eventually get used to them though. Every now and again she has one of those kitten moments where she tries to get out of her collar again. Now we have an elastic safety collar. She hasn't gotten that off yet. Except once when she got stuck on the frame of the bed, the collar did exactly what it was supposed to.

This is kinda cool. Too pricey for its size and only 35 pictures. I might go for it if it had video.

But I'm pretty sure the bulkiness would make my cats go berserk. It looks terribly uncomfortable.

I love this, although I'm not sure what Noa would think of this, he already hates his new collar and bell. Live wifi video feed would be great too, I often wonder what he's up too while I'm away at work.

Great idea but geez that thing is big! I know my cats love to pretend like they are still little predators attacking their prey (fake mouse or each other) super quietly in total surprise. I don't know how much they would be enjoying their favorite activity of attack with this huge thing around their neck. Good idea but I'll wait for one that is considerably smaller.

That's a neat idea, but I remember trying to put collars on one of our Abbys when she was about 3 months old. Stayed on her for all of about 10 seconds. It's like she was the reincarnation of Houdini.

I don't even want to speculate how long this would stay on. :)
