There seems to be some controversy this week about whether or not pink is a suitable color for a true Moderncat fan. I would argue that in an appropriate shade — and in a reasonable amount — pink can be quite modern, especially in the spirit of Valentine’s Day. Here are some of my favorite pink moderncat products:
- Pod Bed from Hepper Home in Candy Pink
- Red Tango Tote Bag in Black and Pink
- Nest Bed from Hepper Home in Candy Pink
- Square Meal Cat Bowl
- Sleepypod Mobile Pet Bed in Blossom Pink
- Red Tango Keychain Clock
- Imac Linus Pink Cat Carrier
- Toby’s Bowl from Cats Rule in Passion Pink
- Booda Dome Litter Box in Pink

I think pink and brown or pink and black together can make something very modern looking.

Thank you for posting the Red Tango items. I’ve had an opportunity to follow the women behind Red Tango for years and she’s an amazing artist. It great to see her cat designs getting more well known. It’s a classic design that people love and it works well here.

pink is definitely a moderncat color! it’s a strong, warm color, makes a fantastic accent against a neutral palate and goes especially well with black, white or gray.

I love anything pink! It is such a pretty color especially for spring and summer. I really like pink and brown together. Of course my cat loves everything pink too so this is a perfect gift guide for us. Thanks!

We ordered the candy pink pod bed from Hepper for one of our two male cats, but our little female calico took to it immediately. Apparently pink for girls even applies in the cat world! We love the bed and the color. It’s a lovely pastel pink that adds a wonderful splash of color to our decor of black couch and chairs and blonde wood coffee and end tables. Pink is DEFINITELY suitable for Moderncats!

I totally agree with the comments above: no color in general is un-modern. It all depends on the shade and the texture. I always feel like natural textures (leather, coton, wood, glass…) are better than plastic and synthetic fabric (think Barbie pink in faux-fur).
I’m not going to get anything to my cat for Valentine’s day, but I like the “color guide” idea. AND the Hepper pod. I’d kill to afford one of those… but I read on their site that they don’t send their products to Europe.

Melissa is right. And personally, I love pink. Pink cat noses, most of all.

I don’t think my boys would appreciate all this pink but my fiancee’s little baby Lady would totally love this. She’s tough but feminine.

Does anyone know where I can find the Linus carrier in the USA?
Thanks!

Modern? yes. Masculine? No. My poor Ralph is doomed to lived with women his whole life! Being stuffed into little kittie coats for walks “So he can’t get cold in winter”. And the pink and masculinity! OH! The horror!
