Brand New! Introducing Urban Pet Haus Modern Pet Furniture

Introducing the newest player in modern pet design, Urban Pet Haus. Just launching their website today, this company promises to make its mark on the world of modern pet design. With a variety of product concepts on their site, the folks behind Urban Pet Haus are planning to turn to you, the modern pet owner, for feedback on exactly which designs they should put into production. And of course they are turning to Moderncat readers first!

Current concepts include super stylish perching shelves, streamlined beds, and ultra cool scratching surfaces, all designed to complement a modern interior perfectly. They are also working on some luxe feeders as well as several enclosed cat dwellings, ideal for an afternoon cat nap. The designs that I’m most excited about are the modern pet stairs. This is something that no one else has tackled. Stay tuned to Moderncat for more information about the Urban Pet Haus stairs, coming soon! In the meantime, please leave a comment here with your feedback for the Urban Pet Haus team. They’d love to hear from you!

Looks lovely. I especially like the organic wave perches.

These are all stunning, but as someone who would especially love to get rid of her blue carpeted cat tower monstrosity, I am especially interested in the mountable shelves (I love those undulating ones, they double as cat play land and art!). And I love anything that utilizes vertical space, creating a less cluttered feel on the ground.

Eco-friendly products are needed as well, but ones that are affordable. I love many of the items posted on this website, but I simply can’t afford $100 for one mountable cat cloud shelf and I spent a lot of time thinking about ways to hack ikea items into suitably attractive and kitty friendly products.

Those are sleek designs ! I’m loving it !

All right, constructive feedback… I have to say, some of those items have a feeling of déjà vu: the “curv” and “linear” pet bed, the scratchers, some feeders. However, they seem sturdy and have a zest of originality in their forms that I like. I especially love the hexagon scratchers, because of its “graphic effect” potential. I’m wondering, what “corrugated” material is used ?

My favorite are the perchs. I’m loving the plain boxes hanging on the wall. Not a fan of faux bois, but I know the Americans love it. I’m just waiting for that trend to come to Europe too.

The stairs are a great idea for old and arthritic cats, I think. The “repeat” model is beautiful. But my Chartreuse can pretty much jump everywhere, so I won’t be needing it for a while. Likewise, I have no use for the dwellings, so no feedback on those.

Finally, I think the concrete feeder would create a riot in France. I’d be among the shouting ones in the first row, provided they are not too deep to avoid whiskers stress (I’m a design nerd, but the comfort of my cat still comes first).

I really like the wall-mounted scratchers, especially the hexagon-shaped ones.

Gorgeous stuff, but cheezus – what a slow site. I must admit that I couldn’t be bothered to check it out any further than a click or two. Good thing that you display some of their stuff here, Moderncat!

  6. 6

I love LOVE the dwellings! I could def. see my cat in one. I hope it doesn’t cost an arm and leg to purchase though! :x

  7. 7

OMG! These are all amazing – so stunning, so sleek, great design!

  8. 8

I like the designs. Particularly the profile and float stairs and the curve perch. I actually have a cat who needs stairs. I do not like the colors shown on the website or the finish of the molded plywood. Are these sample colors, chosen to match the website?

How beautiful… such works of art. There are a number of companies that seem to think cat owners have no taste or sense of style.

Urban Pet Haus…. BRAVO!! Cats deserve beauty, after all…. they are beautiful.

these are great, how do I find the prices?

beautiful! Great use of wall space and very easy on the eyes.

I would be most inclined to purchase the curved perch, which is quite lovely and seems unique to the market. The other perchs are similar to things I’ve seen in other places and could become a DIY project.

I would also be interested in the bed with the chartreuse pad; the other bed (inset pad) seems a bad idea for cats.

My real questions have to do with price points, and customization. If the curved perch was pricey but do-able for me, the fact that I only had one color choice without having to shell out more kibble would make me think twice. Consider adding a light alternative without having to go “custom”. And I would want to be able to remove and wash the chartreuse pad’s cover, and possibly get a replacement pillow. (Although if you indicated that you wouldn’t be selling replacements until 2010 I wouldn’t be put off.) And while I’m mouthing off about what I want, I might as well add that I would *love* a bed like the one you’ve got done in lucite. The only one I’ve seen is a European one that cost $400+, which is simply too much for me.

I went to their site and was unable to get details on the dog crates, not even a photo showing how they open-a pivotal bit of info as i am looking for crates with doors that do not swing out and cause inpediments for blind animals. Their designs look great, but I also had some suggestions for durability for the kitties and was unable to post those on their site for tech reasons. I love the ideas! the cats must have been sitting on their shoulders when they designed.

  14. 14

love love love the stairs. definitely the best thing that they have going.

their website is a pain in the butt to navigate though. don’t have time to wait for the pretty tree to draw.

my fear is that these products are going to be overpriced. we’ll see.

Those designs are awesome! I especially love the curved perching shelves. I am going to ask if my Mommie will buy them for me when they are available!

  16. 16

I love the wall perches, especially the wavy ones.

The beds are beautiful but my problem with them is my cats do not want to sleep on or near the ground. They want to be up on a piece of furniture. Our current cat beds are on the sofa or a chair. Because of the design of these, I don’t think that could be done. However, if you could somehow make these so that they can be attached as a window perch, that would be fantastic and I know the kitties and I would love them.

When can we see prices and shop?

  17. 17

I really like almost all of it. I have been trying to find some sort of perch and scratcher that is well designed but not too monstrous in size. anything to avoid the ugly, carpeted cat trees/towers sold at most pet stores. I hope a lot of this goes into production and that the costs are not too prohibitive. The dwellings and beds are nice too and I really like the feeders.

LOVE the cat houses towards the bottom!

And, yes, where are the prices?

  19. 19

Love the designs but would clash with my early relative have an excuse to redo the house now. Cats would love climbing (literaly) the walls.

  20. 20

It looks nice, as somebody have said…maybe too sturdy, cats like it softer a bit on top.
I like the design, just curious how much does it cost…I am a bit fed up with designs that use “modern” features and the word modern or contemporary just to pick up the price;-) and there is no real value behind…
I really like the cubes, they look interesting, even the curvy lines are fine.Currently looking for some interesting wall climbers with ok price.Let’s see

  21. 21

have to add that the bed steps and feeders are really nice. especially the steps, nobody paid too much attention to them yet;-)

  22. 22

These look really nice, would fit in with our Danish furniture really well.

  23. 23

Love this eco-friendly furniture! I’m curious about the price point. I see so many wonderfully designed pieces for modern cats however the prices are usually prohibitive.
I really love the perch options. Floating shelves are great but how much weight can they hold?

Not too keen on the finish, I hope there will be other options.

  24. 24

I love these ideas! Most especially the wall perches… I love the way the Marmalade ones look but I’ve read reviews for those that say they get destroyed too quickly. Maybe these would last longer. And so attractive, too!

  25. 25

I would love to get the curved shelves (1st pic) They are pawsome!

  26. 26

Love it all. I thought the website wasn’t working so I left it and came back here. I really want the double feeding bowl set with the stand that looks like zebra wood.

  27. 27

Tres chic! My cats and I would love any of these. Or better still, ALL of these.

I’m in love with the organic wave perches

  29. 29

I would really love to see their take on a modern stainless steel pet dish as well as a way of storing the food. I also agree with many of the other responses that I would love to have a climbing structure that fits into my decor. However, as a renter I would really like it to be something that does not have to be mounted. I think it would be really great if they came out with a line of climbing structures that the customer could choose the color and style. There is nothing I hate more than an ugly carpet cat tree.

As Modern Cat reported, we’re still in the concept stage – so we’re thrilled to have your input. And we welcome your thoughts in the coming weeks on which designs you prefer (thanks in advance, for your help).
We are already upgrading our website, based on your comments, to be more functional, navigable – as well as adding the pricing. Stay tuned.

WoW! Love the perches! Below are some of my thoughts on items I would be interested in.

Box perch: seems kind of a waste only to be able to use the top part of the box. If the sides had round or square holes and say that middle box were place a little higher than the other two then the insides and the tops of the boxes could be utilized.

Curve perch: This is a no brainer, love it! Absolutely love it. I need it now, when is it available? Please tell me soon.

CC perch: This is nice but I think something is missing something. I would say style but it does have that in its angular minimalism. Personally, I’m not into hard angles, although the boxes with the above mods would work for me.

Can’t wait to get my wave perch!

  32. 32

How do we purchase? there are no easy links on their website- no online sources to buy or order, and also- as mentioned no prices! I love the beds/houses and the hanging wall feeders as well as all the mounted wall perches.

  33. 33

I *LOVE* everything! Can’t wait to start shopping on the website soon.
