I like #1. I always think dual purpose and storage. The little cubby holes under the steps is an extra space for kitty toys or kitty cozy space.

# 4 had me at hello.
February 23rd, 2009 at 11:31 am
i’m loving #4 slant!
February 23rd, 2009 at 11:34 am
I really like number 4. The design is just really appealing to me. I checked out their website and I would love to win something from them! Their designs are just amazing!
February 23rd, 2009 at 11:35 am
#2 is by far the best!
February 23rd, 2009 at 11:37 am
I love the look of Float, but wonder if my biggest girl would tilt these steps with her thumpy-jumping? Hence, I’m going to go with #4, Slant. Can’t wait to see the winner!
February 23rd, 2009 at 11:39 am
They’re all lovely, but I’m partial to #3.
February 23rd, 2009 at 11:57 am
Definitely #4 the slant
February 23rd, 2009 at 11:57 am
I like Slant best. I’m using Ikea stools (Bekvam) at the moment, but I think the cats would prefer a wider tread. Slant fits the bill and is fabulously stylish too.

Float (#2) – could easily double as a side table, too
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:05 pm
its a hard choice between #3 and #2. but if i have to pick only one, i would say #2. However, i would love either one!

#1 – Trace
This design appears to be most stable, as long as the stairs aren’t slippery. My 16 yr. old cat Foxy loves to sleep and snuggle in bed, and needs assistance to climb up there. I have storage boxes stacked next to the bed as makeshift steps, and have longed for a set of stairs such as these for years. Maybe someday my dream will come true.

Another vote for #1 – Trace.
At first I thought this would be harder to clean, but I decided the hollow sides would be a great place to stash cat toys. It also looks like the most sturdy version, since some cats like to take a flying run and they could slip (know any clumsy kitties? I do!!) between the steps on some of the other versions.
Obviously a geriatric cat who needs to use the stairs is unlikely to run and pole vault off the steps, but for mixed cat households, the stairs need to be safe for the entire cat family.

I have to vote for #2. If I were a cat, I’d like the room to bat at my siblings as they were climbing the stairs.
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:19 pm
#3 – Profile is also good.
Realize the reason I didn’t like this one quite as much as #1 was due to the horizontal graining of the wood, so I would do the vertical grained wood look of #1. Overall, #3 looks a bit sturdier and more stable (as others have mentioned). I think the design should focus first on stability, holding up to abuse from flying cats, then aesthetics.
I hope these are being tested in cat households.
(Please combine comments if possible, not trying to enter the contest twice.)

I like #2 – very cool looking!
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:22 pm
number 3 is getting my vote…
I like it because it is looking stable and simplistic at the same time.
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:24 pm
I think #4 is the coolest!
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:25 pm
i love the slant! this is so timely because our dear velvet is 10 and having trouble getting on/off the bed. even if we don’t win, we will definitely purchase this item. i am so relieved to not have to buy the hideous carpeted set!!!!!
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:25 pm
The Profile #3 looks fab!
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:28 pm
#4 I like the looks of it and it looks the easiest to climb.
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:28 pm
#3 Profile. Clean lines, open, cat won’t get stuck like it might in some of the others. (You know how they love to run through things and chase each other.)
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:31 pm
Float#2 is my choice! Thanks for a chance!
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:36 pm
Really tough, but I think I like #2, float, the best.
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:37 pm
I like #3 . Thanks for the giveaway!
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:41 pm
#2 Float is my favourite! And also I’m liking the dark wood the best… very classy
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:45 pm
Pluisje thinks no. 2 the float is the best. You can sit up & under, and see everything from under, and you can run behind it also and round it also. It’s got style. The ikea stairs with which she is playing now, is nothing compared to this one.
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:46 pm
I was torn between 2 and 4, but I think my final decision will be #2, Float. So nice to see some modern, clean looking designs, as opposed to the mammoth higher pile, carpet covered ones. Love that they can be dusted clean!
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:56 pm
I like #2 the best but think it should have some sort of tread on it. I foster cats and kittens for a local rescue group and usually have quite an assortment in the house. It seems there is always one in the group who jumps on everything at a dead run!
February 23rd, 2009 at 12:58 pm
Design #1, my favorite by a mile.
February 23rd, 2009 at 1:02 pm
Profile all the way!
February 23rd, 2009 at 1:06 pm
#2 is very cool!
February 23rd, 2009 at 1:08 pm
These are really nice. I prefer #2, Float. It seems less bulky and I like that the wood grain runs horizontally, rather than vertically as it does on #4.
February 23rd, 2009 at 1:17 pm
I like the simplicity of the “Slant” stairs #4 – I think it would be easier to clean, allow the cats to play “through” (which in out house is a good thing), and yet allow high-speed ascents and decents.
February 23rd, 2009 at 1:23 pm
#3
February 23rd, 2009 at 1:36 pm
#4 is my favorite, I like that it looks more like a shelving and gives a more modern look.
February 23rd, 2009 at 1:42 pm
Oooh . . . i really like #2.
(Though, i wonder how many people might try to use them for themselves?)
But yes, I love the look of #2 . . . clean and slick look. Simple. All are nice but #2 is best imo.
Thanks!

Number 1! Trace! Love the look, and modern is the way to go!
February 23rd, 2009 at 1:51 pm
#5. More modern than the others.
February 23rd, 2009 at 1:56 pm
#1 : Trace. It’s stylish and practical.
February 23rd, 2009 at 2:02 pm
Good golly,
All of these pet steps are truly lovely!
I have to say, though, that my absolute favorite is #4. I really like how streamlined it is, and the angles are fabulous!
I just bought a very tall pedestal bed, and my 3 kitties could use a little help up to the mattress.
Thank you, Moderncat!

Numero Quatro (#4) most definitely. Though it’s a hard choice as they are all so chic.
February 23rd, 2009 at 2:09 pm
#4 Slant
We have a geriatric cat now and finding modern looking step-assisters has been impossible. What I have found is too bulky and too obvious for what it is. This looks like art.
February 23rd, 2009 at 2:24 pm
I would love number 4 for my 18 year old cat who has trouble getting on the bed to sleep with me.
February 23rd, 2009 at 2:30 pm
Definitely like both slant and float!
February 23rd, 2009 at 2:34 pm
I like #4 the best.
February 23rd, 2009 at 3:03 pm
I like the design of # 4. I have 4 cats and I think they would like that one best because it is more open. If one is on a stair another may be underneath and the battle begins.
February 23rd, 2009 at 3:06 pm
I like Number 3, the kitties can hide behind it too and pounce on each other!
February 23rd, 2009 at 3:07 pm
I really love number 4…the Slant. It’s sleek and stylish…different than just a set of plain old stairs… and I think my cats would love curling up on the actual stairs too !
Thank you for a wonderful giveaway !!
