Two pieces of carpet, six rivets, some sisal string, and a little work will get you this awesome DIY car(pet) cat bed. Portuguese industrial designer Helder L. Santos just posted this to his Coroflot gallery, and I think it’s brilliant! You’d have to choose a carpet that looks good on both sides and has a substantial thickness, but the possibilities are endless. Can’t wait to make one myself!

OMG THINK of the pawsibilities. I never met a carpet remnant I didn’t like. And you can double up on it for looks, too!

BRILLIANT! And just FYI – in the New Natural Cat, Anitra Frazier specifically recommended using the BACK of carpet as the scratching material, as being MUCH more bark-like!

Super cute, but how to get “nice” non fraying edges on the carpet? I know my tabby would be munching on the loose ends. (Garbage mouth cat, thinks she’s a dog.)

BRILLIANT. This guy is amazing…turn a little piece of carpet ready to go to the garbage and turns it to a design cat house ….Congratulations to the DESIGNER.
