I’ve received several toy recommendations from Moderncat readers this week and I wanted to share some of them with you.

Wand Toys: Cat Charmer and Dr. Noys Swizzle Bird. Both toys feature a long fabric ribbon attached to a wand. Dr. Noys Swizzle Bird has feathers at the end.

Ball Tunnel/Track Toys: Bergan Turbo Track and Catit Senses Play Circuit
. These toys both house a moving ball inside a tunnel or a track. You can reconfigure the track into various shapes. The Catit Senses track can be outfitted with optional massage center and scratch pad.

Kit-a-loons from Hoopla. Blow up these cat balloons and let them go flying around the room with kitty following right behind. There are some videos on the Hoopla website showing how much cats like chasing these, but they also have a big warning not to leave kitty unsupervised with a balloon, since they might chew on it and swallow it.

Any catnip toy from Yeowww. Everyone seems to agree that Yeowww catnip is some of the best available and it comes in several cute cat toys, like their signature Banana and Cigar, large green and yellow fish, plus many others. You can also buy their 100% organic catnip by the bag.
Do you have any other favorite cat toys? Please leave a comment and share what you’ve found.

I also LOVE the glow in the dark wand toy from Siamese Rescue. Which, by the way, is the BEST place to buy toys because they have the most fun toys and it benefits cats in need!

They also have world famous Millie Beds that are just heavenly.

I have one that everyone seems to go nuts for, and I can’t figure out why.
We call it Sketchy Eyes, because it has these two bright pink eyeballs sticking out in odd directions, and it’s basically just a cylindrical shape, with a tail and these eyes. It was made by a friend, the most simple design in the world.
It gets the most play, and finds itself in the toy rotation the most often. After that, there is a ‘skinny cat’ ball that you put treats in, and adjust so they have to work to get them out from the holes. That one is a big hit, although not as much of a toy.
I’ll have to try the Yeowww, thanks for all the great info as always!

I have had many cats over my life, and the two living with me now are both 12 years old and one will play with a ribbon and tine balls of paper and the other doesn’t care to play much, but Hot Cats catnip “sausages” get them both out from where ever they had been in the cat latitudes and into the bedroom with the toys. I have tried many catnips (not Yeowww yet) and Hot Cats is what they consistently LOVE.

I bought the toy “Catit Senses Play Circuit” for my two indoor Persian cats. I have to admit that they loved it immediately and kept on playing with it for long time. However, the downside is that the cats often tried to take the lid out, and they managed it eventually. Consequently, the green ball inside was missing. The toy is useless without the ball. I do not recommend that toy…

Our 2 1/2 year old boys prefer things like Undercover Mouse and Fling-am-a-String, but our 11-month old calico LOVES the feather “boa” that was given as a gift to her. It’s described as “JW Pet Squeaky Featherlite Catnip Boa”. It retails for only $4.99. Belle loves it and throws it up into the air and then pounces on it/runs after it. She spends hours each week playing with it. She has plenty of other toys, but this is her favorite.

My cats adore the cat dancer. Actually they find it horribly frustrating, but the fact that they cannot predict it and have a very hard time catching it makes them want it more.

Some of our most favorites are found on an article I wrote at http://hubpages.com/_kitty/hub/Thirteen-Essential-Pet-Products

I have two cats; one that plays with anything that moves (Alley) and one that won’t play with anything (Neko). Low-and-behold, I bought the Cat Charmer about four months ago and Neko LOVES it. I’ll catch her just walking around the house with it in her mouth. Its cheap and simple; but she loves it to death!
