Totally retro and very fun, take a look at these cat beds made from re-purposed vintage suitcases from Etsy seller Vintage Renaissance. Check your local thrift store for some languishing luggage and let your creativity go wild!

Thanks to Melissa for the tip.

Fantastic! What cat doesn’t love jumping into a suitcase to sleep.

How clever!

If this would keep my kitties from shedding all over MY suitcase I would be the happiest kitty-mommy ever!

Yay, kitty goes bye-bye!

My cat always gets very quiet and nervous when she sees my suitcase; it means “car-rides”!

LOVE THIS!

What a great idea, and useful too. These make great cat beds, and makes the cat more comfortable around those pesky suit cases..lol

I am so going to find some old suitcases and make a couple of these for my cats!

What a brilliant idea! I have already started looking for some cool old fashion suitcases!

So cute! But with my luck, my cats would mistake them for a litter box. Guess I’ll keep on letting them shed on my furniture!

My cats would fight over this for several days and then never go near it again. I have found that they only really love boxes and enclosed places that I do not want them in!!!! Dogs would love this.
March 24th, 2009 at 2:27 pm
But the second you make it into a bed your cats will never want to sleep in it again!
March 26th, 2009 at 11:44 am
Hahahahaha I agree with Joel! Soon as you make it for them they won’t want it anymore.

I am going to try making a few for my kitties too! Should be fun!

Ah, I should have patented the idea. When I got back from my last trip I left my suitcase out and open and Tanner’s been sleeping in it all the time. I make a point to vary the blankets and such that are in there, and also hide toys for him.

Great way to recycle grandparents old suitcases.

I was packing suitcases for a trip to WA. I have a photo of my cat Cujo sitting in one of the suitcases. Maybe he wanted to come along?

Aw how cute, and a good idea for cat lovers. I can never find anything like this where I live. I have a gorgeous 13 year old black and white long haired moggy. He loves to sleep in cardboard boxes, not so modern!

These are perfect. I love the vintage look and the fact that something was saved from the landfill. I have a whole crate full of legs – I’ll just have to find the right suitcase – or I can skip the “make-it-myself step and go straight to Etsy! Great idea Melissa!

Very interesting! Love the idea. I have a yellow suitcase just like the one on the picture. I know what I’ll do with it!
