How would your moderncat feel about sinking her claws into this cardboard canine? Layers of laminated cardboard make a lovely scratching surface, but does this give kitty the wrong idea?
Available from Uncommon Goods. Thanks to Alexis for the tip.

Sometimes I wish my cat would learn to use her claws a little with the actual dogs. Might teach them to give them more space!

Very cute, but my kitten would probably just sit on top. She seems to only want to claw the carpet and the couch!

I wonder if the horizontal scratchers would climb on the dog’s back…

NOW you’re talkin’! Today, the cardboard. Tomorrow, a dog-free world.

I don’t see how it would work unless it’s somehow weighted. My cat might try scratching the vertical surfaces, but wouldn’t the dog go flying? And wouldn’t cats have to be quite careful to hop on top and scratch the dog’s “back”? I am interested to hear feedback from those who have it!

I think the stuff from catclaws.com is better. They have a dachshund dog.
