I love it!!!! they make it look all nice though like a cat leaving his/her litter box hasnt left a nice little train of litter, my kitty leaves half the box of litter on the floor

If you want to do more than just hide the litter pan… like maybe STOP litter tracking. Yep, no more litter clean up, what a concept. Take a look at the Out of Sight Litter Box. Jennifer, usually the ends have some wood or wood like material in them. I attached capita legs to several expedits in my day.

Does anyone know how exactly the Capita legs were attached onto the Besta unit? Isn’t it constructed with corrugated cardboard center? How are those legs inset like that without drilling into unstable cardboard?

I’m doing the same thing (not a catpan hider, but as a credenza) and want the same look. Don’t want to start drilling until I get advice from the person who did this hack on how it was done without damaging the integrity of the structure.

I think the first hack is fantastic ! Who’d guess there’s a litter there ?

I think the ventilation could be easily improved by adding a hole on the side, and, like others, I’d use a higher piece of furniture.

As for the second hack, I’m not a huge fan of the whimsy, but the hack is fantastic too. Really well made.

I have to agree with others… the designs are not considering the needs of cats. Aside from the issue of headroom, there is the issue of ventilation. Cats have very sensitive noses. I ask the designers, how would they like to use a human toilet with a 3′ foot ceiling and no windows or fan?

IMHO, litterboxes should never be closed. There are other ways (such as small screens or creative placement of furniture) to block the view of litterboxes.

This idea seems like form before function. Look at that cat, having to hunch down. I don’t know about your cat, but mine sits upright in the litter box, and he’s a big ‘un. The one in the photo is too. Consider the cat. The second one looks better, and I like the whimsy a lot.

The dark one is hillarious!! It looks just like a 1950′s – 60′s “Hi Fi” console with a Dual 1019 turntable and a Sherwood tube receiver!! I love it. Just add a pair of AR-2 speakers, and, “Meow”!!
