Back in April, I introduced the new Maow wall-mounted feeder from Vurv Design. Based on some of the comments that Moderncat readers left, the design team over at Vurv developed a new version of the feeder, the Maow Deluxe feeder. This feeder has three bowls, including a large one-quart bowl for water and two shallow feeding saucers, making it easier to keep water full and fresh and allowing you to feed two types of food at the same time.
We received one of the new Deluxe feeders so my crew could give it a test run. As you can see, it’s a big hit. Flora, Ando, Sophie, and Simba are all shown here giving it a try. It’s the perfect height for everyone and there’s plenty of room for food and water. I absolutely love this feeder! It is so nice to have the dishes up off the floor, making it easier for the cats to eat and for me to clean the floor. And it has a beautiful, clean modern look. I chose a gloss white top with dark Wenge wood veneer on the side. The Maow Deluxe feeder is one of my new favorite items!

This is great! How shallow are the shallow dishes? My cats prefer to eat off very flat surfaces and since I schedule feed – I wouldn’t be fillling up the dishes as shown.

I doubt they would want any new comments now, but I’m going ahead… I just looked at the first product and liked it better. I would just use the two bowls for food…Cats actually don’t like their food and water to be together. They don’t eat and drink at the same time the way that humans do. I have a feed station for my cats and another station for water in another part of the house. I also move the water bowls around because cats like to stumble upon water, and I try to do anything to encourage them to drink more. (I know, crazy cat lover!)

Yes I love this!!! Chloe, my furry daughter, would LOVE this also! I’ve been wanting to buy this but I noticed there wasnt a dish for wet food. And AmyA, thats interesting that you say that about the food and water… I’m going to try that! Have a great day everyone!

This is just spectacular! I just finished cleaning up my cat’s leftovers on the floor so this would be a great asset to our house.

This is purrfect. One bowl wet, one bowl dry and water. My cat would love this!!! Great job!

AmyA, I’m with you – my cats won’t drink out of a water bowl near their food – as a result, I have one bowl in my hallway bathroom on the floor and another up on my master bath counter, both big (former) casino coin cups. And all four of them still prefer to drink out of the toilet anyway. Go figure. Although my oldest likes a fresh running tap when he can get it. These are lovely, though! If I win the lottery, I’m getting two of the original model in cherry finish!

I agree that a 2 bowl option would be great. Very sleek design!

Such a great concept. I just wish they made modular add-ons so that large families could eat together.

I like this idea! I did something similar myself (DIY-style all the way): http://moxiecupcake.blogspot.com/2009/04/secret-project-unveiled.html

The dogs in the house want one. Just the right height for them to clean out all the cat food!☺

I like this design !
I wonder when a designer is going to invent a bowl with an integrated fountain. My cat drinks water in her bowl next to her food (no problem about that here), and I bought her a special fountain to keep water fresh and running when we leave for more than a day. That fountain is… hideous, to say the least. Really, really, think “plastic made in China”. Awful. I can’t display it all the time.
How about inventing a special feeder with a removable, stainless steel bowl for the food, and a nice, well-thought fountain instead of the water bowl ? If I were to design this, I’d make the water reservoir removable, to make it easy to change the water. I’d add a filter.
All right, I’m this close to dismantling my fountain, and creating a diy prototype of my idea… but if a company thinks this is a good idea, I’d be happy to test theirs !

@AmyA I never thought about how they like to “find” their water, but that makes perfect sense! I have a water dish in the bedroom and they drink twice as much from that one.

I think this and all of Verve’s products are beautiful. I love that there’s two food bowls and a deeper water dish. It’s just like the set-up we have now for our two cats only ours is just bowls sitting on the floor. The first thing I thought when I saw the double bowl one was that I would have to figure out where to fit the water. This solves it!
Loora, I bought that plastic fountain thing for an older cat I had that trained me to turn on the sink for him. Of course he never had any interest in the plastic thing so I kept turning the water on for the rest of his life.
I wish someone would make a beautiful pet drinking fountain out of the same stuff a toilet is made out of. All pets like to drink out of the toilet no matter how much you tell them it’s a bad idea.
