Today is the two-year anniversary of the first post on Moderncat. So much has happened since our last anniversary! This year Moderncat was featured on Apartment Therapy as part of Pet Month and again on Behind the Blog. The Pet Elite featured a Moderncat Trend Report. And the always awesome Julia Szabo gave us a shout out in her latest book. It seems that everyone’s buzzing about design for cats!
This year promises to be even bigger and better. Keep an eye out for a few changes to the site that will make it better than ever, thanks to the feedback from the reader survey. You may not be aware, but I recently left my full time job to dedicate more time to Moderncat, as well as the other blog, Catio Showcase, and to make myself available for other projects that help improve the lives of cats. Now I get to work from home with cats on my desk! It’s a dream come true.
As always, I just want to say how much I love my readers! I’m so glad you are all such an active part of this community. Cat people are the best!

Congrats! I love your blog, and get excited everytime I see an update in my e-mail. I did have a young little kitty earlier this year but found out a few months after getting him that he had cancer, I couldn’t believe it. But now I have a new one on the way and I’m preparing myself with lots of ‘modern cat’ gear. I just put together the Cat Livin’ litter hider last night… looks great! I’m so glad I found moderncat.net. Keep up the great work… Josh (a moderncat guy from down under).

Moderncat was what tipped the scales for me when I was trying to decide if I ought to keep the stray I found, or give him up for adoption. Finding a whole community of cat people out there that shook off the whole crazy cat people stigma as well as your beautiful guides and links made all the difference. Brody just turned a year old, and I couldn’t be more thrilled.

Wow! You’ve taken a big step. But what a way to work! Cats on your desk..couldn’t get any better, could it? I love to read ModernCat. Your posts are always interesting and the Modern Cat furnishings, etc. are innovative and just plain neat! I’d like to fill my house with them!
