Thank you so much to everyone who donated to the Oasis de los Gatos cat rescue project! We surpassed our goal of $3000! These funds will go toward much needed vet care for these sweet cats and for other expenses associated with finding them loving forever homes. The generosity of the Moderncat community is overwhelming. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
UPDATE
Of the initial 52 cats, we are down to just 12 cats left on the property and they are receiving daily care and feeding. All the other cats are currently in foster homes, boarding at the vet clinics where they are receiving care, or they are already at the Tucson facility, Casa de los Gatos (no relation to the defunct sanctuary, Oasis de los Gatos) where they will be cared for and hopefully adopted out. Here is a photo of sweet little Zoe recuperating in her foster home after her much needed ear surgery to remove painful hematomas. Other cats who recently received vet care include Jack, who had to have one eye removed from what looked like a ruptured cataract plus he had an abscessed tooth removed as well. Fang and Elliot are currently receiving overdue dental work and treatment for ear mites, and many others have had various treatments. They are all feeling much better now! Thank you to all who donated and a BIG thank you to the many volunteers, vets, vet techs and other supporters who came out to help with this project. It takes a team of people to make something like this happen.
I’d like to also thank www.GiveForward.org. This is a terrific site where anyone can easily create a fund raising page for any kind of project. It is very easy to use and the people who run the site are helpful and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend Give Forward if you are looking to raise funds for a project.

Again, thank you to everyone who donated to this project. The winner of the Hepper Earth & Sky Pod bed, chosen in a random drawing from all who donated, is Sivan McLetchie. Congrats, and thank you all!

That is so wonderful that cat lovers united for some very needy kitties! My hat off to everyone who made this possible. The situation could have easily ended so tragically for these cats. They have no doubt been through a lot of pain and suffering. I hope each one finds a loving forever home very soon. A million thanks again to Casa de los Gatos for doing this in such difficult financial times. I know you will be needing ongoing support for each cat who stays in a foster home or might need follow up vet care. Maybe people will remember you at xmas time and give a little more to help out. I know the cost of helping cats is so great but this proves it can all be worth it!

ConCATs to Sivan and furmily — I know that bed is going to be enjoyed!
And yes, it’s wonderful that your goal was met and I am so grateful to you and your husband, and everyone involved in helping these sweet, sweet cats. Actually it doesn’t cost so much at all, if lots of us chip in and show our caring and community spirit!
