This unique structure looks like it might take kitty time traveling, but really it’s meant to keep her safe and warm, inside or outside. The KatKabin was designed in the U.K. for the modern cat owner and has several features that set it apart from other protective cat houses. The KatKabin stands off the ground to provide a warm and dry spot for kitty to nap . When used outdoors, the removable KatFlap door provides easy access and increased security. The oval shape and rear vents allow for better air circulation and a removable washable KatKushion creates a cozy space inside. Available in five fade-resistant designer colors.

Not everyone (myself included) allows their cats outside, but if your kitty does venture outside, a KatKabin can provide her with a safe spot to hang out. Or if you take care of any feral cats, I’m sure they would be most appreciative to have one of these awesome structures to call home.
The KatKabin is available from Amazon, Puutty Power, and My Cats Heaven. $150.00 US.

What a wonderful idea for kittys that go outside or are feral, especially. I like the ventilation and cleanability aspects. It would even look sharp in any place in my house! Good job!

The KatKabin is really nice, but a little too pricey for ferals!! I use a Feral Villa for my ferals….Kate, could you put one on your Catio?

These are great. Thanks for featuring them.

Its very cool looking and sounds good for pet kitties, but I wouldn’t recommend it for ferals: they need a 2nd door to escape predators or other hostile ferals … in this design they could become trapped!

Besides having indoor kitties, I have a feral kitty that lives under my house, I think she would love to have this for a safe dry spot.
It goes without saying, the indoor one would fight over who would get to sleep in there, or more likely…they would squash in together.

I already have two of these, my cats love them. One is more of an indoor cat and tends to sleep in hers inside the house, the other is more of an outdoor cat and sleeps in hers outdoors where the Katkabin is tucked away in the bushes. They look very funky and stylish and are practical too. My daughter wants one in pink for her bedroom!

This is a wonderful idea! Isabella would be thrilled and look stunning in hot pink, of course I would have to get one for her more adventerous brother Cosmo! who knows maybe they would cuddle up and share!
LOVE IT!

Perfect for outdoor cats!

What a wonderful and cute invention! Our cat Charlie would definitely put a KatKabin to good use!

Wow! What a great idea. My cats are indoor cats, but i’m sure they’d love one inside the house! Also, there are few cats in my neighborhood and every winter (winters in Montreal are pretty brutal) i make a shelter out of cardboard boxes and place a fleece blanket in there with a bit of food. Every morning, the food is gone and I know one more cat got through the rough night. The KatKabin would make a great shelter for those cats.

I agree that it’s a bit too expensive for feral cats but I love the design!

This would be perfect for the feral cats in my area! The cold winds always make me feel sad for them…

Our kitty would love one of these for indoors! He curls up in front of the heat vent to feel the warm air blast on him. This would be a better alternative for him. Very cool looking!!!

I would put this out for a stray cat to stay safe.

klaus and matilda would battle over cabin time!

Indoors or out, I could see this being a useful thing to have. Beats the last minute cardboard box idea for outside cats seeking shelter in the winter.

I made a DIY outdoor cathouse once, but this one is just spectacular!

Nice shape and I love that hot pink colour. Abit toooo nice to put ourdoors.

I’m sure the feral cats at my inlaw’s house would love this!

This is great! I give the design two thumbs up. I have a friend who has an indoor/outdoor cat. He has a little box with a heating pad – this would definitely be an upgrade. THe only con is the cost – it is prohibitive enough to prevent buying it on a whim.

Hello, my name is Ari, and I’m writing for my sibs cuz I’m so smart. They reallyreallyreally want one of these. I can’t use it cuz I have cerebellar hypoplasia, or cerebral palsy, but they can. It’d leave more room in the bed for ME!!

Great idea!

that’s a gorgeous little kitty haus!

I love this design and would love to win one and give to my neighbors who have outdoor kitties that roam around the neighborhood!! Too cozy!!
November 18th, 2009 at 8:28 pm
My cats are indoor only, but cats love getting into boxes anyway.
November 19th, 2009 at 6:20 am
I’d love to try if for my outside feral. Maybe he’ll take this to shelter. So far, he has ignored all of my shelter attempts (though right now it is unseasonably warm). He probably still remembers the last time he went into something on my deck – that resulted in his being neutered. But the female feral used my shelters until she decided she needed to move inside. She is now a very happy indoor-only cat : )

That is cute and clever. I love it.

While my kitties are outside only if I am out there with them, there are quite a few strays in the area. I call them strays since they seem to be well fed and halfway socialable but are outside all the time. I would put this on my patio where they could nap when it is cold or rainy.

I agree with the other posts–it’s very attractive, and a charming design, but for me, it’s too expensive for even my spoiled indoor cat–although I’m sure he would enjoy the enclosed space, as all cats seem to have a yen for wedging themselves into small hidden spaces!
