The design team over at Sleepypod, makers of the innovative mobile pet bed/carrier, have created a totally new kind of pet bed, which will be launched later this year. Crater Dot is a contoured lounge comprised of two parts, the outer contoured lounge base made of molded foam with a polyester fabric cover, and the colorful inner plush dot center. The two parts can be easily taken apart and cleaned. The plush dot center will be available in three colors: Blossom Pink, Mossy Green, and Lunar Gray. The two pieces create a contoured 3-dimensional dish that is both comfortable for pets and stylish enough for a modern interior. The Crater Dot is portable and includes a grommet for easy hanging storage.
And for those chilly winter nights, you can even use the optional warmer (originally designed for the Sleepypod) with the Crater Dot. Simply slide the warmer into the pocket in the base and plug it into a standard electrical outlet, or use the auto adapter when you’re on-the-go.
The Crater Dot will be available later this year and will sell for a suggested retail price of $73.99. It will be available on the Sleepypod website and at other retailers that carry Sleepypod products. I’ll be sure to post more info when it is available.

This is one of my favorite moderncat featured items. I would absolutely love to have one of these. My cat’s can’t take the cold weather very well and they would use this all the time.

We LOVE warm, cozy, easily cleanable, stylish Moderncat beds, and the CraterDot definitely fits the bill. Three of each would do nicely for our furmily! And we’re big grommet fans as well

I’ve been having the hardest time finding surface cat beds that aren’t yawn-inducing, and these are awesome! $74 is a little steep, but I think maybe a little tax-refund kitty gift is in order next month!

Attractive design, I’m sure cats would gravitate to it-but I would prefer some colors that don’t scream 1960. A nice slate blue, a cocoa brown, or even an animal print? Something that dark cat hair wouldn’t show up on as much as it would on the bright green or the gray.
