This month we’re offering a Moderncat fave, the new Slant pet stairs from Urban Pet Haus. These stairs can be really helpful for older pets who have difficulty reaching the bed or the sofa. The dark zebra wood finish is perfect for a modern interior and the powder-coated metal frame is both sturdy and sleek.
Urban Pet Haus is developing a carpet tile kit that can be added to the Slant stairs. The carpet kit will include FLOR carpet tiles and special adhesive tape for attaching the tiles to the tops of the stairs. This will be quite useful for pets who need a little more traction.

This would be a lifesaver, seriously.
My cat has Cerebellar Hypoplasia and insists on sleeping on my bed (if the door is closed he will meow all night and no one including the neighbors will get any sleep). His balance and coordination is at best a crap shoot.
When he jumps onto my bed he can land anywhere, with his claws out, sometimes even on me. He’s landed near my face a few times now (left a scratch scar just above my eye) to the point where I have to sleep facing a wall.
I have looked for ramps and things like this everywhere but being from a small town they are hard to find. This would be a perfect alternative to risky jumping as he’s gotten good with stairs and loves climbing. I’m also afraid he’ll miss badly one of these days (thus why he flys with claws out lol).

You say the steps are great for helping an older pet get on the sofa but do you have a taller version for a bed that sits up high because it has storage under it?

I had an older cat 4 years ago with that required assistance getting up and down furniture. The home-made steps I made for her were an eye sore but she was confined to the floor without them. These steps are great and great for anyone with an older pet.

This would be so useful for my 19.5 year old very frail kitty. She loves to sleep on our bed and she has a very hard time with the little steps we have now. She has to go up those steps and then onto a vanity bench and then the bed. She stays cold and loves to sleep on top of me every night. She is such a precious cat. 17 years ago the vet said she would not live past age 3 because she has a heart murmur. With heart meds and now kidney meds, she is still up and going. She does sleep a lot, but can still interact very well and she keeps the three younger, and much bigger cats in line. Thanks so much, Modern Cat!

My older cat could use these – right now I have chairs, step-stools and benches in seemingly random places throughout the house, but each is actually a step up to somewhere for him.
