Designer fashion label United Bamboo just released images of their 2010 calendar featuring photos by Noah Sheldon of cats wearing miniature versions of United Bamboo’s spring 2010 runway fashions. Too funny! If you’re a Moderncat-loving fashionista, you’ll want to pre-order your copy of the calendar now!

I am sure those cats just love being dressed up. Seems a bit mean to me.

Why do people do stuff like this? I just don’t get it. Our cats are not miniture versions of us!

I definitely don’t think it’s for all cats. People should never force a cat to do anything they don’t want to do, I’m not condoning cat torture! But there are some cats with very easygoing dispositions who seem to like the attention and don’t mind activities like a little dress-up and photo session. Like Yoshi, for example: http://urbanbeast.ca
I know it’s kitschy, but it can bring a smile to your face when it’s well done.

Beautiful fashions. GORGEOUS cats! I do, however, prefer my cats “au naturel”.

This is just wrong. Cats are not little humans, and are dressed absolutely perfectly as they are. Ugh

i guess i’m mean, then, because i love cats and i think this is really funny (even passed it onto some cat-loving friends of mine). oh well!

I don’t like it at all. I don’t think it’s modern or cute to dress up an animal. Sadly, it’s the second post I remember where the cats are used as “cute” props to peddle wares. I really wish you would stop promoting this.

I think it’s super cute and these cats don’t seem to mind being dressed. Not all cats would tolerate it, but others are much more laid back. I love the black and white kitty, she looks very proud of her dress.

That is so adorable! I love the top pic, the cat looks so regal.

When purchasing a calendar as a gift for others or yourself, Just remember all of the wonderful animal charities & shelters that sell them – proceeds are used to help animals in need, not to make money for a company. Does anyone know if United Bamboo donates money from their calendar sales to an animal charity?

Personally, I don’t see much harm with dressing cats up every once in a while. We get costumes for the cats for Halloween – yes, we are one of those people.
We literally put them on them for 10 minutes max…just enough time to take photos and then let them loose. They don’t mind it too much (our youngest used to LOVE it) and it certainly isn’t a regular thing. They get lots of treats afterwords too.
Overall, I don’t see the harm as long as it is not hurting or irritating the cat. Obviously, I would assume these cats aren’t dressed all the time…so, for a photo shoot I think it’s fine.

I love that! wowow i was readying the comments and they are so against to dress up your cat!! dang they will hate me then! my cat use a dress every day! she like it she go to the kitty box, play etc with her clothes on, but i don’t force her to wear stuffs she don’t like, she have 1 dress that she hates! don’t ask me why but she don’t like it, so she don’t use it…. those dresses are so cute but Luna won’t like them because they are too long! she is more a mini skirt type of girl lol
