I am now the proud owner of two of these pods. My cats ADORE them. The best thing is that they look so great. I have so many compliments from them. I even bought one as a x-mas present this year. This is a must have for any can owner!!!

In reply to Angela- yes, the orange kitty is ours. That’s our Milo. I build these scratching pod frames and my wife stamps the designs on them. Our cats really prefer cardboard, since it gets soft like an old pair of blue jeans. Only a couple of times has one of our cats made a mark on the leather sofa with their claws. It was really more of a stretch than a clawing-to-mark-your-turf type of move.

The cardboard insert is packed tightly into the frame so there is little fear it will completely shred. One can easily remove the strips and flip them over to continue the fun. If necessary, I can supply replacement strips too. I designed this surface to be longer than the average cardboard scratcher found at pet stores. Big boy Milo likes having that extra length to stretch out.

Thanks to Modern Cat for this prime feature. These scratchers are a hit!

I got one of these for my parents’ new kitty awhile back. It has held up really well, and their cat loves it! Plus, it’s got unique art stamps all over it. Handmade, very spiffy and well worth the price.

Hi,

Is the orange kitty yours? I’m asking because we are in the process of adopting a cat and also have leather couches (similar to the one in the picture) and I was wondering if you ever had issues with the cat scratching the leather. If you have a good scratching post, do the cats leave your couches and other furniture alone? Sorry if this is a lame-o question, we are first time cat owners.

Yes, very trio. I’m lovin’ the idea that the base is made of hardwood. Kush has to use his weight on one end of his flimsy scratcher to keep it from flying under the stenght of his fron paws.
