UK-based Scissal created these beautiful raised feeders with sensitivity toward how they are manufactured. The company founders felt strongly that quality pet products should not be manufactured in countries with poor animal welfare records. Therefore, these feeders are designed and manufactured in the UK. Makes sense, why should a country benefit from pet product manufacturing revenues when that country doesn’t treat its own animals humanely.

The Scissal feeders are made from sturdy acrylic with removable stainless steel bowls. Choose from freestanding or wall-mounted feeders in a variety of colors. Both single and double feeders are available ranging from 59.00 to 182.00 Euros. Looks like they only ship to the EU for now.

Nice! – so is the spirit behind the manufacturing of them.

Good for this company. If I lived there I would certainly support them for their efforts. Too bad many other countries don’t feel the same.

We can only hope buyers will consider their purchases from other companies as well. The strongest vote for a manufacturer is with your pocketbook. Kudos to the companies who support human and animal rights. By the way, these are beautiful. Can’t wait until they ship to the US.

How very interesting and different. Ironically, as my funds are low, my cats will have to continue to rely on their (unraised) dishes of glass and ceramics. They love me still

These are so great..I just featured them on my blog too with another feature later in the week for dogs!

Why hasn’t anyone else thought of this issue before?! Well done, Scissal!
As to the feeders: Gorgeous. The price range is quite wide, too. This is definitely going on our wish list, including a wish that they ship here and a wish for a more favorable exchange rate!
(so very many exclamation points!!!)

These are gorgeous, and I love the manufacturing philosophy behind them. I hope they’ll be available in the US soon – maybe this could start a trend!

While I know too much to ever agree that the UK has a good record regarding the rights of ANY living being, I do love these designs!

Well, I guess a partial conscious company is a start. They care about animals in choosing manufacturing location, but if we pollute the environment for other animals we aren’t helping either. The designs of these are nice so why acrylic plastic if they are trying to be conscious? They could make these from really beautiful raw, sustainable and natural materials, as well as already recycled materials. But correct me if this acrylic is recycled plastic. That would be more of an incentive. I think we have to be really careful when we promote ourselves as being conscious. But I certainly would tell them they are on the right track.

Good News – We DO ship to the USA. You just have to email us your order and we obtain shipping fees from our couriers! (One thing to say, some of the diners are quite large and we are therefore charged by volumetric weight, so the carriage fees can be quite high)
Also, a huge thank you for your enthusiastic support for our products and our belief regarding their manufacture. We’ve never said we’re perfect, but at least we’re trying!
We chose acrylic and stainless steel for their longevity, ability to recycle and hygienic properties. Our products are also used in Veterinary Hospitals and we wanted materials which had been ‘tried and tested’ for the above. Don’t worry, we are designing new products, in different materials……….. so keep a look out!

Smart idea. We really like the orange one! Elevated cat feeders are so much healthier for the pet.

I like the design. The clear ones look like they are almost suspended in the air!!! Also, they look very easy to clean and good colours. I presume the workforce of cats who were put together to design and manufacture them were not harmed in the process!!!!
