These incredible pieces of functional art are called Katzenhoehle, or cat caves. Each is handmade of felted wool by German artist Dornroeschen Filzunikate. There are several styles and sizes to choose from and the caves are apparently washable. They look so delicate, but very cozy, too.
Available via what appears to be the German version of Etsy, DaWanda.

These beds are perfection! I absolutely love the creativity and my cats would adore them. They’re gorgeous and I imagine the texture and warmth of the wool would just suit kitties perfectly.

Those are so unique! Too bad they are wool, they really do look great outdoors!
Also, DaWanda IS a site like etsy, but they have separate sites for the US, UK, France and Germany. The main difference is that DaWanda doesn’t charge sellers listing fees.

I think these are awesome! What a fun an unusual type of cat bed! Too bad it looks like they only sell in Europe and they are pretty pricey.
Would be great if someone on Etsy picked up on the idea and made them!

These must have been made for my cat, Dexter. He loves burrowing under rugs or pillows to make his own cave. He would love these!! Very attractive also!

Truly beautiful art! Sleeping cat looks like my cat Bunnie Rabbit. She sleeps all curled up just like that. A little angel sleeping in a white cloud!

Now I need to get a cat just so I can have an excuse to get this gorgeous cat cave. I love fiber, and this is so lovely. I’ll have to make it a gift for one of my many lovely cat friends.
