I welcome you to see my cat photo gallery at
http://ajax27.smugmug.com/

My own cats---in fact this is the second generation of them. They are not only cute but sensitive as well. For instance one of my cats (not in these photos)comes into my room the moment I wake up every morning----and it hovers around until I have given it sufficient milk to drink---well others have different habits.

hope u enjoy seeing my album

I absolutely LOVE Ingrid's photos, and have a couple of her prints. She has a wonderful and natural talent for taking creative and soulful images. I like the advise about the wide f-stop. I'll have to play around with that. Also, I wholeheartedly agree with NOT using a flash. Your cat's eyes are so expressive and it's a shame when what could have been a wonderful photo turns into looking like an evil kitty with glowing eyes. Although, if you do own an evil cat, turning the flash off probably won't stop kitty's eyes from glowing....just kidding! Great blog entry!!! Thanks for adding it :)

BRAVO to Ingrid and Jenna (posting above) for their loving, caring approach to cat photography and for "walking the talk" in using their talents to better the lives of rescued cats. Gorgeous photos of gorgeous cats!

I'm LOVING these cat photographer interviews. I myself am an amateur cat photographer and like Ingrid, I (used to) spend a lot of time shooting for a no-kill shelter with a free roaming cat room. As a volunteer for the rescue (while I was in college, which is why I no longer help out, I live over 2 hours away now) I got frustrated at the quality (the "look" not the technical "quality") of the cat pics. In the interest of saving time, they would hold the cat up under it's arms and take a quick pic. They looked like angry, viscious animals, not loving pets, so I finally put my money (so to speak) where my mouth was and began taking all the online pictures for their website. I would spend a few hours each week hanging out, getting to know the cats and then (often crawling on the floor) take time to take LOTS of pictures. It definitely helped with adoptions (I also recruited my english-saavy friend to write "cute" bios). I can't say enough about what it did to help me with my photography skills, and like I said, it definitely helped bump up adoptions. If you are at all interested in photography and have a local shelter, I can't recommend enough volunteering your time doing something like this. While mine are definitely not up to par with Ingrids, I've gotten some goods ones. If anyone is interested in my rescue cat pics, please check them out here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jenna_belle/sets/72157594461709739/
