These intricate three-dimensional sculptures were created by Elizabeth Berrien, who is known for her amazing wire sculptures and illustrations. All of Elizabeth’s different works are quite impressive, but her animal sculptures — especially the cats — capture both spirit and form with incredible accuracy. A cat lover herself, Elizabeth creates custom wire portraits for cat owners. See some examples on her website www.wirelady.com.

These sculptures are certainly very different but adorable at the same time. They would be a wonderful addition to my home to say the least.

It’s not so surprising that an accomplished sculptor would understand how to sculpt the body form of a feline in wire. It *is* surprising that she is able to capture facial expression in this media. Very nicely done. I wonder how cats respond to their wire dopplegangers….

This is labor intensive work. Considering what you’d pay for an hour of a counselor’s or psychotherapist’s time, the cost of these cats is a bargain. Liz is amazing.
