I wanted to share with you these beautiful pen and ink drawings by my friend, Phoenix-based artist Ross T. Boyd. Ross has been drawing animals of all kinds for decades, spending hours and hours on each image. These are some of my favorite images of house cats, especially the first one, called “Cattitude,” which looks just like my new kitten McKinley.
Ross shows his drawings at various art events around town, and he now has a CafePress store so animal lovers everywhere can get Ross’ drawings on all sorts of merchandise. Right now the shop includes Ross’ house cats as well as some of his wild cat drawings. Choose your own t-shirt, sweatshirt, greeting cards, buttons, magnets, mugs, and even tile coasters with any one of the drawings. Here are some of the items with the house cat drawings:

I read your email about Ando and Mckenzie comforting you on the “catio”;
I just wanted to tell you that cats know when you’re feeling sad, they
are the best company when need comforting because their emotions cross
the boundaries of human and feline. They “get it” without fussing about
it. Cats rock!

I’m such a sucker for judgmental cats that the Green Eyed Tabby 2 drawing leapt at me with the slightly disapproving gaze and jaded “What is the food servant doing now?” body language.

Kitten & Frog, although Kitten in a Drawer is a close second.

I’m torn between Cattitude & Siamese … Siamese reminds me of the 2 lovely Siamese we used to have when I was a kid: Ah So & Ah Chew!
And Cattitude reminds me of my dearly-departed long-haired cat who used to sit exactly like that (one paw forward) &, not only that, but she truly did have an attitude — she would bat at me & bite me if I tried to walk away after petting her!

I worked at Denny’s in 1995 and Ross asked what animal was my favorite and I told him the wolf. He sat at my table for 8 hours and drank just coffee and drew me a wolf. He told me he did not have money for a tip so here was this drawing. I told him he just had coffee it was not worth this beautiful drawing. I have this beautiful drawing in a glass frame to this day still! It is one of my prized possesions to this day. He even addressed it to me, signed, dated and numbered it. I wish I could send you a photo of it. I have been trying to find more of his art work for years. I finally found this site.
Thank you
