I wanted to share with you these beautiful pen and ink drawings by my friend, Phoenix-based artist Ross T. Boyd. Ross has been drawing animals of all kinds for decades, spending hours and hours on each image. These are some of my favorite images of house cats, especially the first one, called “Cattitude,” which looks just like my new kitten McKinley.
Ross shows his drawings at various art events around town, and he now has a CafePress store so animal lovers everywhere can get Ross’ drawings on all sorts of merchandise. Right now the shop includes Ross’ house cats as well as some of his wild cat drawings. I LOVE Cattitude and Kitten in a Drawer, but Cattitude so completely mirrors my cats’ personalities, it’s too funny!

Love Cattitude, if it was done as a rag doll it would be a match for my Shadow kitty, she gives me that same look when things are not up to her standard

My favorite is the green eyed tabby since it looks the most like my two cats. I love that the bright colored eyes stand out in each one.

What gorgeous pictures!!! The kitty with the frog and the sweetie in the draw are just my cup of tea. Absolutely lovely. Hope I get the pick of the draw.

All the cats are beautiful- my favorite house cat is the kitten in the drawer, my favorite wild cat is the leopard with her cub.

All of the pictures are fantastic! My sister is an artist who also does pen and ink and I love that type of drawing, however, the colored eyes just POP compared to the black and white!! Wonderful!!

Hard to choose a favorite, but I LOVE the “Kitten In A Drawer” drawing!
I run a cat/kitten rescue, and in the facility, we have bolted dresser drawers to the wall, and the kitties love to lounge and sleep in them. Ross’ drawing looks like he was watching them!
We send out a thank you card to all people who adopt a kitty, as each one that finds that “forever home” makes room for one more who’s still looking…and these would be awesome for that thank you!

These pen and ink drawings truly capture the cats’ personalities and I like how only the eyes are in color – very dramatic. The Siamese reminds my husband of his teenage years with his adopted stray Siamese named Herman.
