With Earth Day less than a week away, this is the perfect time to introduce a brand new company that may be producing some of the greenest cat products on the market. Introducing Purr Post, Portland, Oregon-based manufacturer of eco-friendly cat furniture including posts, perches, scratchers and more. All of the Purr Post products are made using organic and natural materials that have been carefully researched. Solid bamboo, stainless aluminum, and natural sisal are combined to create beautiful products that both you and your cat will love. All products are made in the USA.
I’m really impressed with the amount of research that has clearly gone into every aspect of the Purr Post products, including the finishes and adhesives used. This company is obviously dedicated to being environmentally-friendly and cat-friendly. They pay attention to details, right down to the office paper they use!

BONUS GIVEAWAY! Enter to Win A Purr Post Scratcher!
Purr Post is offering one of their bamboo and sisal scratchers for a special Earth Day giveaway! These scratchers are made of solid bamboo with water-based varnish and a natural sisal scratching surface. The scratchers are backed with non-skid natural cork to protect floors. The winner will get to choose either the darker caramel finish or the lighter natural finish.

April 15th, 2010 at 9:19 pm
Not only would Kaylee love to sink her claws into this, but what a treat for us not to be looking at an ugly cardboard tray or worrying about what it’s made of. Win for all!
April 15th, 2010 at 9:25 pm
I love this company! Green materials, great design, no sales tax or shipping fee (!), and surfaces Otto would looove to dig his claws into!
April 15th, 2010 at 9:41 pm

April 15th, 2010 at 9:47 pm
LOVE the Purr Post! Definitely in the running for my next kitty purchase but I’d sure love to win one.
April 15th, 2010 at 10:17 pm
My cat is so in need of this. I love that being green and eco-friendly doesn’t necessarily mean expensive.
April 15th, 2010 at 10:31 pm
High five on the free shipping! That’s usually what burns the most when ordering cat furniture online. I also love how the vertical scratching has enough space up to for my kitty to perch on.
April 15th, 2010 at 10:32 pm
My cat loves to scratch, and I would definitely like something that is good for the planet….
April 15th, 2010 at 10:32 pm
My kitties love to scratch sisal… they’ve destroyed many sisal scratching posts. I’d love to win one of these for them.

I’m impressed. The company owners definitely have cats and care about their well-being. I would love to win this contest, and how, as I have not been able to find work this past year, but if affordable, I would definitely purchase a scratching post from this company. Bonus: they are from Portland, and I live on the Oregon coast.
April 16th, 2010 at 4:25 am
Wonderful looking products! My little monster can’t wait to sink his claws into one.
April 16th, 2010 at 4:42 am

April 16th, 2010 at 4:59 am
This is a terrific scratching post! It looks “purr-fect” for any size cats. I know that mine would LOVE it. I admire the philosophy and practices of the company. This is exactly the type of company that I would do business with! Thanks.

Wow, it’s almost impossible to find reasonably-priced, eco-friendly cat posts that aren’t covered in stuff that makes my asthmatic hubby wheeze. This company looks great! Hope they make some larger cat trees in the future – I’ll be watching!
April 16th, 2010 at 5:19 am
Great company! Green all the way! Their products would save my furniture, too!!
April 16th, 2010 at 5:19 am
very cool!
April 16th, 2010 at 5:35 am
I think the fact that this scratcher is 100% eco- (and cat-) friendly is a major bonus in these times of cutting down carbon footprints. It’ great that it can easily be moved around the home and propped up in areas where you want the cat to scratch, along with the advantage that it doesn’t take up much floor space.
April 16th, 2010 at 5:56 am
My cats would love this!
April 16th, 2010 at 5:59 am
Wow! How much fun my kitty would have scratching on these instead of the furniture!!!
April 16th, 2010 at 6:18 am
My kitties would love that! They’ve been enjoying their corrugated cardboard scratcher and it would be fun to add an environmentally-friendly item to their collection.
April 16th, 2010 at 6:26 am
Wow!!! My kitties would love these.
April 16th, 2010 at 6:46 am

April 16th, 2010 at 7:12 am

I wish more companies were this conscious. Good job and great looking products!
April 16th, 2010 at 7:39 am

April 16th, 2010 at 7:40 am
What a great product! Fun for the kitty and good for the environment
April 16th, 2010 at 7:40 am
one of these, well actually two of these would come in handy since we have a house full of cats. for some reason they prefer scratchers that are lying on the floor versus ones that are vertical in nature. still haven’t been able to figure that one out.
April 16th, 2010 at 7:40 am
So much better than the cardboard ones. I know this will be well-liked with my crew.
April 16th, 2010 at 7:40 am
ooooohhhh, my kitty needs a new scratcher!
April 16th, 2010 at 7:40 am
We just saw Dr. Jane Goodall in Buffalo- this past Wednesday- We volunteer at our Buffalo Zoo- I think that these products are really in line with what we should do to keep the planet GREEN! I would certainly consider buying things from them!
April 16th, 2010 at 7:41 am
Looks like great scratchers!
April 16th, 2010 at 7:41 am
Wow, what a great product. I love that they are 100% Eco-friendly, how awesome! The circular design for the post is great, and I think the best part is that the parts are replaceable. My cats go through posts pretty quickly, and it’s quite wasteful, so this looks like a great solution. Thanks for the giveaway!
April 16th, 2010 at 7:41 am
Love it. Keeping my fingers crossed.
April 16th, 2010 at 7:41 am

April 16th, 2010 at 7:41 am

April 16th, 2010 at 7:41 am

April 16th, 2010 at 7:41 am
My Missy would love to sit on the wool on top of the Purr Post!
April 16th, 2010 at 7:41 am
This is exactly what my cat needs, hope I win.
April 16th, 2010 at 7:41 am
My cats would love this scratcher, and I love the look of it!
April 16th, 2010 at 7:42 am
My cat LOVES anything with sisal on it. And the fact that’s it’s eco-friendly is fantastic. More companies should be doing this kind of thing, producing totally environmentally-friendly products. Excellent stuff.
April 16th, 2010 at 7:43 am
my cat would love this
April 16th, 2010 at 7:43 am
I love these products! Affordable and stylish and eco-friendly! I would really love to have these in my home. I love the free shipping and no taxes! I like the sisal carmel floor scratcher.
April 16th, 2010 at 7:43 am
The commitment to being eco-friendly is a wonderful thing for a company to be mindful of. I have a similar scratcher that is just about DESTROYED. Could use another.
I might have missed this… but do these come with replaceable scratching surfaces?
