Kick Litter For Earth Day!

Kick Litter

If you want to be really green this Earth Day, you could try toilet training your cat and kicking the litter habit altogether! I still have yet to try this, but I’ve read so many testimonials saying that it’s the best thing ever, I have to see if it works.

One of the best resources out there for helping you teach your cats how to use the toilet is Kick Litter, the entertaining little guidebook from Moxie and Cooper who both kicked litter themselves. The book comes with a free poster outlining the easy-to-follow “nine step intervention program” for toilet training your cat.

. . .

Note: Toilet training cats can be controversial because some research has shown that there may be a link between a parasite sometimes found in cat feces and harm being caused to sea otters on the West coast of the US. However, further research shows that if you are able to verify that your cat does not have the parasite, that flushing cat feces is not a problem. For more info, please read this post.

ode to joy if litter du jour could be eliminated!!!

  3. 403

I’ve always thought my kitty would be able to do this, and I would love the opportunity to try!

  4. 404

I would so love to win this, I realy want to toilet train my kittys.

  5. 405

    I say let’s give it a try!

  6. 406

I am a bit skeptical so I would have to see for myself if it truly works. I would love it if my cats used the toilet, no more messy litter box cleaning or odor. We even invested in the 2 automatic litter boxes but sometimes it still takes too much effort cleaning them.

I have had cats that would be candidates, and others that would be a real struggle. Two of my cats are bobs, one tailless. I wonder if they would be able to balance well enough. Sure would be willing to give it a shot, though. Biddie is particularly fastidious and would love the cleanliness factor.

I am all about being earth friendly. I would LOVE to teach my cats how to do this. I have never known that it has worked so well for others. From my cats and I please please send us a Kick Litter book.

Kicking the Litter would totally save my sanity and my feet…I’m always stepping on those funky litter pellets (for the Breeze system) that my lovely LunaBella like to flip out of the litter box and chase around the bathroom floor >^..^<

  12. 412

My grand kitties are super smart…they could so do this!

  13. 413

    I say let’s give it a try!

My boyfriend and I are in the middle of toilet-training our new kitten-BOBA. He is 10 weeks old and in his first week of the training. So far he has gotten used to going on and sitting on the toilet cover. We are excited to know what will come in the next couple weeks. Can’t wait to see he learns how to do it!

  15. 415

Training our two little ones to use the “human” litter box could be the next best thing since my morning cup of joe!

  16. 416

this is so awesome! i would love to teach my beautiful kitteh how to do this! save so much time and the environment!

  17. 417

I would love to toilet train my kitty! So sick of kitty litter…

I live in NYC sized apartment. I would love to try this!

  19. 419

I would really like to toilet train my youngest kitties. It would be grrreat!

  20. 420

Well I doubt it will save the planet but it is a small but significant step in the right direction and it will be a good test of my patience.

  21. 421

i’d love this. one of my cats poops on the floor, so the toilet would be a big upgrade

  22. 422

I have thought of writing this very book myself. I have toilet trained 3 cats in the past. However, my current sister kitties are quite resistant. I’d love to see whether this might help!

  23. 423

Ohhh Yes thank you! Haffa and Waffa tell me they they want rid of their litter! What better treat for “Kitty Mom Day” than 2 clean Boyz!!! :)

  24. 424

It is such a good idea to train a cat using human toilet, not only it is so convenience, but it also saves the environment.

  25. 425

Can’t believe this will work with our older cat. The two younger cats will easily learn, but the older one is too lazy and stupid. Sorry for my fidelity, but that’s simply the truth.

  26. 426

    Oh! Pick us!
Me and my 2 year old cat would love to try it!

  27. 427
    Dawn Garlick

this is such a great idea, not only saves money spent on litter, also helps the earth

  28. 428

I don’t know if my kitties would learn, but would give a try!

  29. 429

I would be so happy is my cats used the toilet. They both drink a lot of water, so the litter is always very wet even if I put in lots of litter. This would be the answer to a lot of my cat litter problems.

  30. 430

love to try this training :)

  31. 431

Can I teach them to flush too?

  32. 432

This is great, I would love “potty train” my cats!

  33. 433

I love the idea but I’m not sure it’d work for us. When they were kittens we left the lid down until we were sure they could get out on their own. Unfortunately once we left the lid up and my girl kitty fell into the toilet. Not only was she soaked but the water splashed the boy kitty, and both had to have a bath. Needless to say they are a bit hesitant to go near the toilet now.

  34. 434

What a brilliant idea. That would be wonderful, no more smellies to clean and a litter free floor. (My dear Isis seems to get the little pellets everywhere). I would give this a go with both my fluffies without any hesitation :-)

Kicking litter, yippie! Would that be great or what?

  36. 436
    Bethany Isaak

i would love to learn this!

  37. 437

To never have to clean the litter again. Joy!

  38. 438

With six cats I really nead a kick litter!!!
Send one to Portugal, please :)

  39. 439

This would be a wonderful savings in all areas-environment, time, money

  40. 440

ohhh, we want want want!!! can’t wait to hear more feedback, no matter who wins!

  41. 441

This is so awesome. I have two cats now and keeping up with the litter is a chore for sure. Having both my cats toilet trained would certianly solve the stinky basement problem!

  42. 442

I have actually already gone through the process of trying to potty train my cat. She was making substantial progress! And very quickly! Until it came to open up the bottom at 75%. She was fine with 25%, 50% but 75% whoa! It was a long process at that step and she refused to go any further. Although now when I’m cleaning her litter box and she has to go, she’ll keep checking the toilet for that tray… Years later.

  43. 443

COMMENT! I think my beautiful bengal boy ould definately pick this up.

  44. 444

I tried this with my first cat and he didn’t take to it but I think my current kit-cat might! Love to try it again with maybe some different advice!

  45. 445
    Jen Gallant

Love it, what a great idea!

  47. 447

ha ha so cute!and great concept. my kitty would love to be green and use the toilet! :)

  48. 448
