Introducing blanketID, another great way to help protect your cat in case they get lost, plus, with this system, you’ll be helping other animals in need at the same time! This Victoria, BC-based company is dedicated to helping pets. They have created a line of very stylish ID tags that each have a unique ID number. Pet owners register the ID online at blanketID.com and enter your contact information as well as a description and photos of your pet. If your pet is lost, simply report your pet as missing through the website and blanketID sends a broadcast email to local SPCA, animal hospitals, shelters, other local blanketID members in the US and Canada. If someone finds your pet, they can log on and contact you immediately.

The tags are lightweight, waterproof, scratch resistant, and noiseless, because they have a crystal clear, durable, rubberized coating on both sides. They are also very small and come in a variety of awesome mod designs. All the blankedID tags are made in North America.

For every purchase of a blanketID tag and membership, a portion of the funds are donated to the Blanket Fund for Animals. The funds are all used to help animals in need. You can read about some of the animals that have been helped on the blankedID blog.
BlanketID tags sell for $24.99 CAD, which includes the first year’s membership. Additional yearly memberships can be purchased with discounted package pricing.

BONUS GIVEAWAY! TEN WINNERS!
Ten lucky winners will each receive a blanketID tag and a 1-year membership! To enter, please visit the blanketID website and pick your favorite ID tag design. Then come back here and leave a comment on this post telling us what your favorite design is. The winners will be chosen in a random drawing on May 3. One entry per person. This giveaway is open to readers everywhere. Note: International readers can register their pet on blanketID.com, however the broadcast email alerts are only available in the US and Canada.

The Peony Green tag would match my cat’s eyes perfectly! And I think it would look super sweet with her purple collar too.
April 27th, 2010 at 4:26 am
Oh, the peony green is so pretty and so is the rainbow orange. Both would look very beautiful on Tati.
April 27th, 2010 at 4:46 am
Very nice I love the butterfly green one
April 27th, 2010 at 4:56 am
I like Butterfly Green. It is a very pleasant color.
April 27th, 2010 at 5:55 am
Definitely a great idea, especially for non chipped cats
I love the Rainbow Neutral – such a cool throwback to seventies chic!
April 27th, 2010 at 6:02 am
Gingham Orange for us! These are really great looking!
April 27th, 2010 at 6:09 am
I’m a manager at a local pet store and we were looking into carrying these. They are great!!
April 27th, 2010 at 6:26 am
We like the plaids….wish the tags were a bit smaller though – they seem a little bulky.
April 27th, 2010 at 6:28 am
Rainbow Orange!
April 27th, 2010 at 7:14 am
What a lovely idea!
April 27th, 2010 at 7:14 am
Very stylish.

Collars and cats are not a good combo. Collars can be dangerous and cats have literally hung themselves in their collars.
When using collars it is also not a good idea to attach bells, disks and other stuff as they increase the dangers of the cat getting caught on something. (this can happen in your house as well – and what if you are not home?)
For id purposes an ear tattoo and/or micro chip is the way to go.

I love the brown one with the butterfly!
April 27th, 2010 at 7:42 am
I like the gingham orange best!
April 27th, 2010 at 7:44 am
i would get butterfly neutral for my girl kitty and rainbow neutral for my boy kitty. they’re all very stylish.
April 27th, 2010 at 7:50 am
They’re all great, but I love Trellis Orange as it would look beautiful against Magnolia’s orange fur.
April 27th, 2010 at 8:00 am
I love them all, but I think my favorite is Plaid Green.
April 27th, 2010 at 8:12 am
i love the butterfly designs followed by the flowers, i need the bright colors since my cat is black and would need the contrast. so green butterfly or the red flowers would be my picks
April 27th, 2010 at 8:26 am
OMG!!!!! Those are the cutest tags for pets that I have ever seen.
April 27th, 2010 at 8:45 am
We like them all. Any color will go with our furs.
April 27th, 2010 at 8:50 am
Oh such cool designs! I love the Butterfly Green!
April 27th, 2010 at 9:00 am
I think the Plaid Neutral would be great for our Zero!
April 27th, 2010 at 9:05 am
I like the Plaid Green. So Cute!
April 27th, 2010 at 9:21 am
These are cute! I like the Butterfly or the one with Flowers!!
April 27th, 2010 at 9:24 am
I love the orange trellis. But my smallish cat would need a smaller sized tag, or he would bite at it.
April 27th, 2010 at 9:26 am
My favorite design is the Trellis Orange, but I’d probably get the plaid green or plaid neutral as less likely to clash with the caramel-tan of my cat’s fur.
April 27th, 2010 at 9:35 am
The plaids are my favorites, especially the plain green! Great designs overall!
April 27th, 2010 at 10:15 am
This is a fantastic idea! I love the neutral butterfly! Would also love to see some in other colors, like reds, blacks, purples, etc. My cats are microchipped AND have a guardian angel tag on their collars, but this would probably work best if one of them escaped.
April 27th, 2010 at 10:15 am
Not only it’s great idea, but all the cool design!! The gray plaid one is my favorite.
April 27th, 2010 at 10:34 am
i love the gingham neutral!
April 27th, 2010 at 11:14 am
I love all of the designs, but if I had to choose one it would be the Plaid Neutral. I have a Calico and it would pop against the dark fur under her neck.
April 27th, 2010 at 11:25 am
I really love the blue butterfly on purple. I think it would look great on my tortie kitty. The red one with flowers is nice too.
April 27th, 2010 at 11:49 am
the rainbow neutral…love it
April 27th, 2010 at 11:55 am
Gingham Orange
April 27th, 2010 at 12:03 pm
Gingham Neutral is the one for my cat, Ollie. This is a great idea and I will pass this information onto other cat owners that I know.
April 27th, 2010 at 12:04 pm
i like the plaid neutral one
April 27th, 2010 at 12:08 pm
…and in response to Louise’s posting above, it should be a given by now that the only collars any of us should be considering at all are the break-away type.
i hope there aren’t pet owners that still don’t know this (??)
April 27th, 2010 at 1:27 pm
I like the plaid, butterfly, and trellis. Also, I agree with dave i. But, if non-breakaways are in stores, some will still buy them. I don’t think everyone knows.
April 27th, 2010 at 2:05 pm
I ONLY USE BREAKAWAY COLLARS, BUT THE TAGS ARE VERY CLASSY, AS LONG
AS THE COLLAR DOESN’T BREAKAWAY. I LOST A CAT ONE YEAR AGO. HE NEVER
WAS FOUND, AND I HAD HIM FOR 15 YEARS, I STILL GRIEVE EVERY DAY BECAUSE I DON’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM. IT IS DEVESTATING.
April 27th, 2010 at 2:40 pm
my fave is the plaid green
April 27th, 2010 at 2:41 pm
I like the trellis orange tag.
April 27th, 2010 at 3:18 pm
It’s so hard to choose my favorite design- I love them all. I’d probably pick the Butterfly Neutral for my little girl cat though.
I love the idea- I move quite often and it would a lot more convenient to update my info on a website instead of buying two sets of new id tags everytime i move.
April 27th, 2010 at 3:22 pm
Hi, just wanted to say that I love these tags – we have one for our cat Mimi. And actually they are really small tags – perfect size for a cat. The whole concept of these tags is brilliant – I’d like another for my dog so I’d like the orange gingham one please.
April 27th, 2010 at 4:36 pm
Love both the gingham orange and the rainbow orange!
April 27th, 2010 at 4:44 pm
So cool! I absolutely adore the Trellis Orange one! I’m glad someone finally came up with a way to connect tags on animals online!
April 27th, 2010 at 6:27 pm
Great tag design, My Miss Eartha Kitty would like great with the Butterfly Green tag! I agree break-away collar are a must for cats!!
April 27th, 2010 at 6:39 pm
I’d love to win a Blanket ID tag for my dog, Sandy! All the designs are great but the Butterfly tags are my favs!

Ooh – they’re all delicious but my favourite is the Trellis Orange one. Thanks for running this contest.
April 27th, 2010 at 7:20 pm
Aslan the Monkey would rock the Gingham Orange!
Plaid Green would look amazing on Eleanora Socks!
April 27th, 2010 at 7:25 pm
My cats only have breakaway collars. I love the Rainbow Orange for my calico & orange cats, and Gingham Neutral for my chocolate Siamese with the blue eyes.
