Scratch'N Slumber Comfort Center

Introducing a brand new product from a brand new company, check out the Scratch’n Slumber Comfort Center from Brawny Cat. This Washington state-based company knows what it takes to keep cats of all sizes lounging in comfort. They’ve packed all sorts of features into the Scratch’n Slumber, I guarantee it will be a hit.

First of all, the Brawny Cat doesn’t discriminate against full figured felines. The Scratch’n Slumber was created for a very special girl named Big Baby. Here she is modeling for us:

Big Baby

As you can see, Big Baby needs a little extra room to stretch out, so the folks at Brawny Cat created “The Big Baby” Scratch’n Slumber measuring 26.5″ wide and 23.5″ deep. This size is great for “full figured” cats as well as large breed cats. In addition to “The Big Baby”, they created four more sizes (shown below) so you can pick just the right size for your cat.

The Scratch’n Slumber isn’t just a bed, it’s a complete comfort center. The sturdy cedar frame holds a high quality cardboard “padlet” that cats absolutely love to rub, scratch, and nap on. The raised, curved sides provide extra support for kitty’s back and head and a great surface for scratching. Plus. kitty can peek out over the sides to attack unsuspecting siblings.

The cardboard used is very high quality and stands up to quite a bit of scratching, plus you can turn the padlet over when one side is worn and get twice the life out of it. A catch basin in the bottom of the frame holds loose cardboard and catnip. Read more about the features and benefits of the Scratch’n Slumber on the Brawny Cat website.

They sent us one to test and as you can see below, everyone loves. Every time I turn around, someone else is on the Scratch’n Slumber. I’ve moved it all over the house — on the catio, in the living room, in the office — and they always find it. I’ve even seen a little “king of the hill” action happening when it’s time to decide whose turn it is.

Scratch'N Slumber Comfort Center

Just for reference, this is the B’Tweener model. Left to right: Theo weighs about 17 lbs.; Simba weighs 9 lbs.; and Flora weighs 6 lbs. (she’s tiny). That’s Ando in the top photo and he weighs about 15 lbs.

The Scratch’n Slumber cedar platforms are all handcrafted in Washington state using Western red cedar. Each one is hand-sanded and constructed without glues or stains, just natural cedar.

The Scratch’n Slumber Comfort Centers sell for $169 to $189 US, depending on the size. Replacement padlets are available for $59 to $79.

I think the size offerings are wonderful! One of my cats is a large Maine Coon who simply doesn’t fit comfortably on or in most “normal” cat furniture. When she sits on the top of our cat tree (her favorite spot), there is *no* space around her body the way that there is when our other cats sit there. Being able to have a lounger and scratcher that can fit her big body would be amazing! I’m sure she’d be very happy to get a “Big Baby” sized Scratch’N Slumber.

Ooh, my kitties would absolutely love this! The fact that it comes in a wide range of sizes is terrific. I suspect the Tweener or the big Baby Jr would work best for my six kitties, since some of them would like curling up on that together.

  3. 3

Our clowder of 8 cats love to sleep on the cardboard scratchy boxes we get for them, but this looks so much more cozy and like a real, sturdy, long lasting bed for them. I know many cats are petite but somehow our rescues all turned out to be tall, long, fluffy adult cats that don’t fit in a standard cat bed. The Big Baby Jr would give my Maine Coon mixes the space they need to stretch out but I can totally see one of them sharing it with our 8 month old Oriental shorthair mix Ralph.

I appreciate seeing your cats modeling the B’Tweener, since I think that’s the size that would work best in our small apartment. I could see such a piece getting a lot of use in our apartment — and would certainly be less of an eyesore than the disintegrating Trader Joe’s scratcher boxes we use currently. The wood on the Scratch’N Slumber really pulls it together.

  5. 5

Wow! My cats would love the Scratch ‘n Slumber Comfort Center. They sleep most of the day and love using their scratching posts several times a day. It would be perfect.

I have 2 small female cats and a “well fed” orange boy. My boy cat Charley would probably love the B’Tweener or The Big Baby. The girls could both cuddle on the B’Tweener. I already can picture them on one! I love that there are so many sizes so every cat can enjoy relaxing on one.

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

My kitties are still growing, so not sure what size they would need, but they’re loooong cats so could probably go with the larger size.

Following you on Twitter as @tannawings

I really like the way the Brawny Cat beds are constructed- they look really sturdy! And Big Baby is a dead ringer for my boy Ozzy :)

I have a small cat rescue, and I could see this turn into a king of the hill too!

Would have to go with the large size, since Ozzy is the big boy of the house. And he would fall under, large cat and well fed:)
Thanks so much for the chance!

This looks like a product! I love all the options in sizes! I think the B’ Tweener would be great for my cats since one cat is 8 pounds and the other is 15 pounds :)

Love that it comes in different sizes. I’d probably need the Big Baby for my big “well feed” baby!

  10. 10

My cats would love to have on of these. I would love to have the big baby.

  11. 11

These look like my cats would totally love them! Especially my 19lb’er. He LOVES scratching on cardboard and I think he’d enjoy a new place to lay besides the bathrug LOL.

  12. 12

I think I would choose the B’tweener. Not too big for a small apartment, though my two 15 pounders would probably need to take turns ;)

  13. 13

Clever to realize that cats don’t just come in one size! The B’Tweener looks about right for all of my cats – they’re just pretty normal-sized cats. :)

  14. 14

Kitters would be in seventh heaven with a B’Tweener. She’s not that big yet, but given her love of all things treaty, we’ll give her some room to grow. Not only does this piece look highly functional and feline super friendly, it is quite beautiful. We’ve got our paws crossed on this one!

  15. 15

The B’tweener would be perfect for my cat! I think shopping for this product would be easier if the chart above included the cat’s weight range for each model that they have.

  16. 16

    Looks cozy!!

  17. 17

Just like how I sleep with a pillow, I’ve noticed that my cat, Butterscotch, likes to sleep with her head slightly above the rest of her body. I think that’s what draws me so much to the design of this Scratch’n Slumber bed. She would love the little headrest. She’s a normal sized cat, but I think the B’Tweener would suit her best – it’d make her feel like she’s got extra room to spread out. :)

  18. 18

My cats would love this – it’s like their Scratch Lounger only better – and it’s nice to have the openings on the wider sides – the SL’s have arrow opening sides which I think keeps the cats from sleeping on them much anymore.

But the cardboard seems to be preferred now to the sisal. B’tweener would probably be the size they’d love.

I also love the look – it’s much better than the harsh edges of the Scratch Lounge.

  19. 19

Great idea. Like the look and eco-friendly materials. My three fur-fellows would like to have one.

My cats would love the Scratch ‘n Slumber Comfort Center, it looks very sturdy and I really like that they offer different sizes. Plus we love that they use cardboard. My kitties would need the B’Tweener model.

amazing! i could use a couple big babies for my beasts :) they would adore them.

I love that they have so many sizes. Especially if you don’t have the space for a larger model. Personally I’d get the biggest, “The Big Baby” because I have multiple cats some of which are in need of a diet lol and some who just like to stretch out and take the most possible space (they do this on my bed mostly) And of course if there’s room for two then there’s grooming each other and playing on it, I’d love to take pics of them sleeping and playing on this.

  23. 23

I think this would be a hit with both of my cats. I’d go for the large size, because the bigger cat needs the space and likes to sprawl.

  24. 24

I like the idea and the fact that everybody can modify the outlook to fit the house by painting the wooden parts if wanted. I would maybe choose the B´Tweener one for my cats.

  25. 25

Fine looking loungers, though I would have hoped for at least one named for “husky” cats.

  26. 26

I think it’s wonderful that they offer various sizes! I myself would prolly get the big baby LOL I fall into the big cats AND well fed cats as well as multiple cats category!

I also like the style itself, it looks like it could go with any decor and is not very assuming! very nice!

  27. 27

    woaw … woaw
I don’t find any other word to describe those impressive cat’s furnitures.
I’m sure our Minkamau would just enjoy this. :-)

  28. 28

I think they offer a great variety of sizes and probably don’t need to add anymore unless they change up the style. I like the b-tweener. My cat is around 12 pounds and I think that would work great for him. He would like to spread out on the whole thing.

  29. 29

My kids are all in the midst of their own “Biggest Loser” competition (and looking quite trim I might add), but my Maine coon mix will always need more room to sprawl! One of those Big Babies would be perfect!

  30. 30

I love the sizes! I have two rescue cats who I can imagine stopping their bickering long enough to snuggle on this! I think they would require the Big Baby to need enough room away from each other. Or enough room for one of them to really spreeeeeeeeead out!

  31. 31

OMG, my kitty would loooove this. I’d get the Btweener, b/c she’s average size but likes to spread out on anything cardboard.

  32. 32

Oh this is great. My cats sleep on top of the small scratchy boxes too. A friend made a round scratcher that is about 2x as tall as the box kind and the cats love to sit on that look out the window and I think they would love this too. I think the B’tweener woudl be fine for my cats. Although personally I have a big space for this, the larger ones may be too big for a lot of people, especially condo, townhome, or apartments. Good luck with this, I hope you get it placed in retail stores too.

  33. 33

Looks like the kitties really love it,I’m sure mine would too!

  34. 34

The sizes are great to choose from but I would use a B’Tweener for my two tuxedo cats.

This looks like an awesome product! My cat Chip, a handsome 16 pounds of love, would probably feel quite comfortable on the B’Tweener. But the The Big Baby would fit Chip plus his little sis Emma, a petite 7 lbs, and allow for them to adequately spoon together during nap time. I know they would get a lot of use out of this as they both LOVE to scratch on the corrugated cardboard scratchers and I think it is wonderful that replacement padlets are available!

Thanks for sharing this with us!

These look awesome! I’d love to have one for my big guy! He loves cardboard boxes to play in and scratch. He’d think he was in heaven
    with one of these!
    Thanks for having this contest!

  37. 37

Awesome! Wish my big guy (Norwegian Forest Cat) was still around – he would have loved this. But my two more reasonably sized gals would still love one!

  38. 38

what a great product!!! my three beautiful babies would like to have a B’Tweener. bet they will cuddle up and enjoy a good nap

  39. 39

I would LOVE one of these! I have something similar, but I have 4 furry ‘kids’ and they all can’t use the same lounger at once. This would be a needed bonus so that everyone over here can be happy. I would love a large one so that my two sisters can sleep on it together. And I think that all of the new cat products that I have been seeing that are made of cardboard are fabulous! My cats LOVE to scratch on cardboard… keeps them off the couch, and that’s a goooooood thing!

  40. 40

Finally, a cat bed/center that will fit and support my large tabby! I love the size choices too! I’d love to get the Big Baby for my big baby!

Great idea making multiple sizes! You can never go wrong with more stylish cat furniture.

  42. 42
    Renee DAmico

The Scratch and Slumber is a great idea especially because the cats can scratch on it too. The different sizes are great! I have a long cat and heavier large spayed female. I only choose cat furniture that can accompany their weight and legnth so they can stretch out.
My cats would love this great idea!

  43. 43

So much more attractive than the cardboard boxes I leave on the floor for them to lay on and play with now. I’m going between the B’Tweener and the Big Baby. I’m afraid of the fights that may ensue if they can’t both fit on it at the same time.

  44. 44

I too have a tiny cat, six and a half pounds, and I would love to see how she would utilize this lounger. I think she would just love it.

  45. 45

I like this because it comes in sizes! My cats aren’t huge, but most lounger scratchers are too small for them to lay on and sleep (which they like to do). And cardboard is a favorite in our house for scratching!

  46. 46

My guys would love this! They’d need the “big baby” because they love to snuggle together! :D

  47. 47

My cats (and bunny) would love this…they definitely need the “Big Baby” size so that they could squeeze at least 2 on at a time!

  48. 48

these are all super attractive, they look like they would fit in well in just about any type of home decor. i love all the size offerings as well, it doesn’t seem like any cat is left behind! i would likely pick the b’tweener, my kitties are pretty average sized but they loooove to stretch out so a wider style would likely be appreciated.

    My cat would love this!

Hurrah for scratchers that will fit big cats or small apartments! I’ve got a feeling my chubster would love to enjoy a nap in a sun spot on the Big Baby!
