Introducing a brand new product from a brand new company, check out the Scratch’n Slumber Comfort Center from Brawny Cat. This Washington state-based company knows what it takes to keep cats of all sizes lounging in comfort. They’ve packed all sorts of features into the Scratch’n Slumber, I guarantee it will be a hit.
First of all, the Brawny Cat doesn’t discriminate against full figured felines. The Scratch’n Slumber was created for a very special girl named Big Baby. Here she is modeling for us:

As you can see, Big Baby needs a little extra room to stretch out, so the folks at Brawny Cat created “The Big Baby” Scratch’n Slumber measuring 26.5″ wide and 23.5″ deep. This size is great for “full figured” cats as well as large breed cats. In addition to “The Big Baby”, they created four more sizes (shown below) so you can pick just the right size for your cat.

The Scratch’n Slumber isn’t just a bed, it’s a complete comfort center. The sturdy cedar frame holds a high quality cardboard “padlet” that cats absolutely love to rub, scratch, and nap on. The raised, curved sides provide extra support for kitty’s back and head and a great surface for scratching. Plus. kitty can peek out over the sides to attack unsuspecting siblings.
The cardboard used is very high quality and stands up to quite a bit of scratching, plus you can turn the padlet over when one side is worn and get twice the life out of it. A catch basin in the bottom of the frame holds loose cardboard and catnip. Read more about the features and benefits of the Scratch’n Slumber on the Brawny Cat website.
They sent us one to test and as you can see below, everyone loves. Every time I turn around, someone else is on the Scratch’n Slumber. I’ve moved it all over the house — on the catio, in the living room, in the office — and they always find it. I’ve even seen a little “king of the hill” action happening when it’s time to decide whose turn it is.

Just for reference, this is the B’Tweener model. Left to right: Theo weighs about 17 lbs.; Simba weighs 9 lbs.; and Flora weighs 6 lbs. (she’s tiny). That’s Ando in the top photo and he weighs about 15 lbs.
The Scratch’n Slumber cedar platforms are all handcrafted in Washington state using Western red cedar. Each one is hand-sanded and constructed without glues or stains, just natural cedar.
The Scratch’n Slumber Comfort Centers sell for $169 to $189 US, depending on the size. Replacement padlets are available for $59 to $79.

This is really a wonderful idea! I bet it smells nice too — I LOVE western red cedar. I’d probably go for the B’Tweener size. Hazel’s a dainty little girl at about 7lbs, but Sweetheart’s taller, longer, and almost twice her little sister’s size. Litter-mates. Go figure.

I love that this comes in larger sizes. I have 2 large breed cats and they are always hanging off things and I am sure the Big Baby would be perfect!
May 17th, 2010 at 10:41 am
Wow! These are amazing!
May 17th, 2010 at 10:43 am
I love this product! What a great idea! Definitely would need the XL size for my voluptuous babies.
May 17th, 2010 at 10:50 am
these look great….all the sizes seem to have their places, and would work for different reasons…i think the big baby jr might be the one tho for my kitties–it’ll allow them to snuggle on the same surface, but doesn’t look to big for the little one to be comfortable on her own.
May 17th, 2010 at 10:50 am
Oh I really like the looks of these. I would want the Big Baby, as one of my lovelies is a hefty 17 pounds.
May 17th, 2010 at 10:56 am
I have a brother and sister who love to nap and snuggle together, so the Big Baby model would be wonderful for them.
I love that the Scratch ‘n Slumber is constructed with white cedar and no glue – very stylish!
My two love to use pillows when they sleep and the built in pillows are a plus.
The portability of the lounger would enable me to put it in my home office, so my kits can be with me while I work.
The kittehs look so comfortable!

I love that….my cats will love it.
May 17th, 2010 at 11:13 am
Love that it comes it various sizes to suit the more thicker kitties. And you can finish it to match your decor. Looks like a great product.
May 17th, 2010 at 11:22 am
OMG this is the perfect design, I love it!
May 17th, 2010 at 11:26 am
After careful and thoughtful consideration, I’ve concluded that our two bundles of joy (going on six now) would require the full sprawl-out space of “The Big Baby”.
No doubt one of them would lay claim to it – but in cooler weather they’d find a way to snuggle up together. I also love the fact that the The Scratch’n Slumber Comfort Center is actually an attractive piece of furniture in it’s own right. I can easily imagine it in any room – including the living room. Nice!

May 17th, 2010 at 11:32 am
Maybe if I got one or two of these, I would have room on the sofa!!!!
May 17th, 2010 at 11:37 am
Hello! Abbey Road (our fat…ahem…fluffy) Maine Coon would love to slumber on the B’Tweener model. It looks like the perfect size for her!
May 17th, 2010 at 11:40 am
This is absolutely adorable. I have 2 kitties and I think they would love this.
May 17th, 2010 at 11:42 am
Aaah, they look like they’re really enjoying themselves. I think I would go with the Scratch n’ Go. Seems like a good size for stretching out.
May 17th, 2010 at 11:44 am
I accidentally came across this ad for the “Scratch & Slumber” cat beds. My babies range in size from about 8 pounds to about 18 pounds. I think this is a wonerful idea for kitty furniture. All of my babies would love it. I would buy the largest one because of my l8 pounder. His name is Piglet. Wonder why. I would very much like to win this bed.
May 17th, 2010 at 11:48 am
THese seem like a very nice bed/scratcher for the cats! I think I’d go with the B’Teweener, but maybe the Big Baby Jr.
May 17th, 2010 at 11:49 am
big baby for me as well, those cats look like they enjoy it so much
May 17th, 2010 at 11:57 am
I think my babies would be most comfortable on the Big Baby Jr. What a great idea!
May 17th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
I already have a cheaper version from a big box store that my growing kittens love, but being Siberians they’re already outgrowing it! Definitely would get the Big Baby size
Thanks for letting us know about this great item!
May 17th, 2010 at 12:11 pm
These are great looking, lovely enough for any room. My cat would enjoy this scrather, I’m sure.
May 17th, 2010 at 12:28 pm
This looks amazing! I’ve got three Big Cats who could really put this to good use.
May 17th, 2010 at 12:28 pm

May 17th, 2010 at 12:54 pm

This is very cool, I’m sure my Silly would love it!
May 17th, 2010 at 1:00 pm
Oh my catness! So cool! My cats would love this! And I love it especially after seeing the black kitty and orange kitty testing it, I was able to picture my own cats napping in comfort! The B Tweener would be my choice…
May 17th, 2010 at 1:15 pm
THANK YOU for making a larger product for larger cats. So much cute stuff is out there, only my big kitty won’t fit! We’d need the Big Baby size, and it would be great for Cliff to have something of his own. Well, besides the couch, that is!
May 17th, 2010 at 1:25 pm
What a great idea! I would choose the scratch and go
May 17th, 2010 at 1:27 pm
Brilliant! I think the B’Tweener would be the best fit for my two. I think thw 26 1/2″ styles will be more popular in general because they look slimmer due to the width to length ratio.
May 17th, 2010 at 1:28 pm
This looks so comfy! I would probably pick the Big Baby Jr. since my cat likes to stretch out as far as he can.
May 17th, 2010 at 1:51 pm
I think my Big Babies would love the Big Baby size. I think is it very smart to offer the different sizes. Goodness knows my boys would not fit on anything smaller than the Big Baby.
May 17th, 2010 at 2:08 pm
All you need is a feeder attached and my cat would never move again. I’d probably go for the big baby.. not that they would share but my big baby is a big baby.
May 17th, 2010 at 2:23 pm
My cat Poster already sleeps on her cheapy cardboard scratcher but says she’d like this one a lot more!
May 17th, 2010 at 2:41 pm
What a cool idea! My big kitty would love one of these, and it is very stylish as well. I’d have to order the “big baby”, as my cat enjoys his food.
May 17th, 2010 at 2:43 pm
Big Baby looks just like my Stinky. These comfort centers are awesome and I only wish I could afford to buy 3 of them for my guys. Would seriously love to win one for them!
May 17th, 2010 at 2:51 pm
i love that this gives an options for cats with “more-to-love”
May 17th, 2010 at 2:57 pm
The b’tweener would be perfect for Kai! Love it!
May 17th, 2010 at 3:02 pm
Wow, wonderful!! My kitties would all be fighting over it!

May 17th, 2010 at 3:17 pm
I think the B’Tweener would work for my two. Thanks for the chance to win!
May 17th, 2010 at 3:18 pm
Awesome! This looks like a kitty heaven! I’d get The Big Baby size because my cats love to sprawl out and have a lot of space. It says it could fit two so I’d love to see my two boys cuddling together on it.
May 17th, 2010 at 3:23 pm
Yes, please enter me. I have one “big baby” that would love this.
May 17th, 2010 at 3:55 pm
Love this!!
I can see Marley & Smooge lounging in the Big Baby…. And giving my coffe table a little break!
Great idea!
May 17th, 2010 at 3:58 pm
At the moment, we have cardboard boxes around the house that have been torn to shreds. The scratch n slumber would definitely look alot nicer in the house:)
I’m from Australia, but I would be willing to pay the extra shipping costs.
May 17th, 2010 at 3:59 pm
Nice looking and a great idea. The b’tweener would be perfect.
May 17th, 2010 at 3:59 pm
I think you have a size for every cat! I think my two would do just fine with the B’tweener!
May 17th, 2010 at 4:18 pm
I have four lazy cat babies at home that would probably never leave these.
