Design for cats is getting a lot of national media attention lately with the recent article in the New York Times about catio design, and now Sonia Zjawinski from Pawesome.net is working on another article for the New York Times about home renovations designed to accommodate pets, like these two examples, an in-floor hidden litter box with a trap door from Desire to Inspire, and a built-in feeding station from Artisan Kitchens.
If you’ve done a stylish home renovation to accommodate your cats, please send photos and info to sonia [at] pawesome [dot] net no later than this Monday, June 28. I’d also love to see what you’ve done, so feel free to send to me, too, at kate [at] moderncat [dot] net.

LOVE the Artisan Kitchens built-in feeding station — one that accomodates a much larger feline family would be appreciated! As for the trap-door litter box idea, not so much…

I’m not sure how well the trap-door litter box would work…
The built-in feeding station is sorta cool, but for people that raw feed, cats never keep it in a bowl, so it’s really a waste. Make me a cabinet area where each cat gets a cubby and there’s a hole in each door and that would probably work better, LOL.
