I recently came across this ultra modern pet bed from what appears to be a new company called Pawsitively Modern. The beds are individually handcrafted from hardwoods including white oak, walnut, or maple and they come in three sizes, extra small, small, and medium. The high resiliency foam cushion is covered in stain-resistant Smart Suede fabric from Crypton and is available in an assortment of modern colors. The beds normally range from $425 to $635 US, depending on the size and the wood selection, but sale prices are currently listed from $361 to $540.
The bed appears to be the only item on their website at this point, but I will definitley be keeping an eye on this company to see what they do next.

I see many things on moderncat that I love, but this is NOT one of them. No cat is going to want to sleep on this thing! It’s a SLAB–cats like cuddly nests. Hopefully people will take into account what the CAT wants and choose a comfy $20 bed instead of this thing, which is overpriced and likely to be hated by any and all cats!

OH, to be wealthy enough to afford one — or in our case, NINE! This does echo the style and the feel of our wonderful IKEA “Malm” bed, in oak, of course!

Is it really necessary to kill a hardwood tree so my cat can have someplace to sleep? Isn’t there some less precious material available that will still honor the design?

I can buy a futon for a human being for less money. Cost = FAIL.

I have this bed, and honestly my cat loves it. I was surprised with the hard lines, but the pad is soft – I think mem. foam. The price well…, lol (mine was a gift from a very sweet BF!). Pricey but everyone asks about it, unique piece.
