I’ve made something similar to this with old socks. You know, the ones you can’t find the mate or one has a hole in it? Choose one sock to be the toy, ball up the others and stuff them inside, and leave enough of a “tail” on the top of the sock so that you can tie it off (make a loop with the end of the sock and poke the top through it and pull it tight). It’s just the right size for a cat to hug and kick.

I just bought one of these, because one of my cats never seems interested in catnip toys. Apparently she liked this one, because the two of them got into a slapfight over it!
