Moderncat reader Helen was inspired by the German cat caves, Katzenhohle, that I posted back in May, and she decided to try her hand at creating some of her own. Here are the results and I think she did a wonderful job! Helen’s Casa di Gata (Italian for House of Cat), as she calls them, are made from 100% pure wool. Helen first crochets, then decorates, and finally felts and stiffens each casa. No two casas are the same.
These three designs were made for Helen’s clients. Each one is very unique! Helen is located in Melbourne, Australia. Casas range from $180 to $260 AUD (that’s about $160 to $232 USD) plus shipping, which could get a bit pricey for overseas orders. For more information or to contact Helen about having your own custom casa made, please visit Helen’s website.

WOW. The Casas del Gatta are bellisima! (Apologies for any bad Italian.) Especially love the tall pointy one in the first group. If we ever get wealthy, consider yourself commissioned, Helen

These are adorable! I have a cat that likes the cold, but a kitten that likes to be warm, this would be perfect for her to curl up in while the cat & I enjoy sleeping with the window open on chilly evenings.
