If you’re looking for an eco-friendly alternative for your tree hugging moderncat, then these beautiful cat trees, perches and scratchers from CatsPlay.com might be the thing for you. Made from 100% solid red cedar with no particle board, plywood, carpet or adhesives, these are some of the greenest cat products I’ve seen.
Each item is individually handcrafted and the surface of the tree is scraped and hand shaped to make it safe for kitty, while maintaining its natural appearance. The wood is not sealed so it continues to release a natural cedar scent. Cedar is a perfect scratching material for cats because it is hard enough for a satisfying scratch but not so hard that it will splinter. Kitty can really dig her claws in!

Little details like perches, baskets, ping pong ball “mouse holes,” and natural feather toys add fun and functionality for kitty.

Choose from a huge variety of styles, from 6 foot tall cat trees to freestanding scratching posts. Each piece is a unique work of art made by skilled craftsmen. Prices range from $75 to $460.

Visit CatsPlay.com to see all the different styles.

Great! At last, I will not have to worry about the staples and glue adhesives on the cat trees.

I love these! I have been dying to get my 2 rescue kitties something to climb on…but can’t afford something like this, and my other half thinks most perches are “tacky.” I showed these to him and he LOVES them! I’ll start saving! Super cool, beautiful!

OMG I knew I hated the “Carpet Trees” but it never occurred to me to have one made from a real tree! So obvious it was in-obvious! Soon as I can, I’m getting one!

Cedar often shows up on lists of plants and trees that are toxic to cats. We saved a piece of our magnolia tree when we had it taken out, but my husband’s been nervous about bringing that inside, even though it’s *not* on any of the danger lists. I agree that cats would love a truly sturdy wooden scratching post as well as enjoying climbing among the “branches.”

My indoor kitties would love the smell and feel of these trees.

I’ve had my cedar cat tree for several years. I hide treats in it and make the cats search them out of the branches. I thought the tree would smell good as they scratched it. It has no smell. The basket on top was great but the cats tore it to shreds in about a month and there was absolutely no customer service information to order a new one. Mostly, the cats use this tree to launch to other furniture. I think they need something like this to jump up on and I do love that there is no carpeting. All things considered, I’m glad I have one and given the chance, I would get another one. After all of the years, 6-7 years, the tree is splitting in some areas but otherwise very stable.

What a blessing one of these would be for my foster cats as they wait for a forever home to go to…
