Today in the US we celebrate Halloween, but tomorrow in Mexico is the Day of the Dead. This holiday is a time to gather with friends and family and remember loved ones who have passed, and of course feline friends are included in the celebration. Here is a collection of art and craft pieces that incorporate cat images in the traditional Dia de los Muertos style.
Above (clockwise from top left):
- Day of the Dead Cat Pull Toy from Illustrated Ink
- Day of the Dead Cat tile mosaic by Martin Cheek
- “SIEMPRE EN MI CORAZON” (Always in my Heart) print from Illustrated Ink
- Tres Gatos painting on wood by Patrick Murillo

Remembering our transcended beloved family members is natural. I’m not really comfortable with commercializing it, but…

Actually, Dia De Los Muertos is November 2nd, All Souls Day. November 1st is All Hallows Day. There seems to be a widespread misconception about this. And in all fairness, many places celebrate on both days.
Wonderful, magical art you’ve shared!!!

Thank you so much for featuring my pull toy and print! I recently lost one of my beloved kitties, and she was the inspiration for my “Siempre En Mi Corazon” print. She will always be in my heart. It is my hope that through my art, I can be part of helping others honor the memory of their fur babies.
Best wishes, Leila
