The folks over at Modernist Cat — whose cat furniture is made for an atomic ranch — just created the Litter Hideaway Deluxe. This modified version of their original Litter Hideaway has a hinged back panel for easy cleaning.

Since each piece is made when ordered, you can create your own customized Litter Hideaway Deluxe by choosing the finish (natural, golden oak, walnut, or ebony stain or a custom enamel), fabric for the pad on top, and base (casters, adjustable feet, or a sleek modern frame). Check out all the options at www.modernistcat.com.

Nice choice of finish, fabric, and base options — for those who prefer to hide, this is a good option!

shoot. just went to buy one of the original versions but $75 for shipping and handling on a ‘lightweight’ item seemed exorbitant. i’ll have to think about it. love it, though!

This could also just be a fun box to hide and play in!

Very nice, and on wheels too? That’s a winner!!

This is beautiful!
@Carrie, I ship things which are approximately this size regularly and $75 sounds just about right. Ply isn’t lightweight, and shipping costs have gone up 20% in the past 16 months. It’s a total bummer.
Thanks for another great find Kate!

This is a great idea! It provides privacy, contains spilled litter and looks great.
I only wish they would come up with one that’s high off the ground – for those of us who can’t bend. The lower part could be used to store the litter, scoops and disposal bags. It would balance the weight, and keep these articles all in one place and hidden from view as well. Something to think about . . .

I have read varying comments about the efficacy of hide-away litter boxes. I like Kat’s idea-to use as a play box.

Wow this is a nice hide out for your pet cat. It is actually neat looking to have provided shelter for out pets… I think that design works with a rabbit hutch what do you think? Just a little add-ons and some alteration on the inside. Nice post by the way. I learn from it. Thank you.

This is mine. I was able to pick the finish and the wheels… they lock by the way, as well as the fabric on the little cushion. Yes it costs some $, but it will last forever and is quite well made. They packed it extremely well for shipping.
