Do you have a scaredy cat at home? One who’s afraid of the vacuum and the mailman? I do, and the thought of getting him groomed is very unpleasant. The clippers used by groomers vibrate, making a noise that is frightening to nervous pets. And using regular scissors is not an option. Did you know that it is very dangerous to use regular scissors on a cat’s fur because their skin is so delicate that when you lift the fur it’s almost impossible not to clip the skin, which could be disastrous.
Well, Scaredy Cut is a new invention that provides a simple solution. This grooming set uses scissors with a clip-on blade to protect delicate skin when trimming kitty’s fur. They sent me a set to try, and I tested it on Mackenzie, my big chicken-butt, and I was thrilled at how well it works! Sometimes Mackenzie needs a little assistance grooming his wooly britches and I was able to use the Scaredy Cut to help him out — without freaking him out. The Scaredy Cut is Mackenzie approved!

The set comes with one pair of scissors with a special comb holder and six plastic clip-on combs ranging from 1/2 inch to 1 inch. These are the same combs used with electric clippers and are designed to glide smoothly through fur while resting on the skin and keeping the blade at a safe distance. It’s easy to see the pink comb in any color fur.

In addition to eliminating the vibration and sound of electric clippers, the Scaredy Cut prevents uncomfortable hair pulling. Even with regular clippers the fur is pulled from one side. With Scaredy Cut, the scissor blades come together from both sides, eliminating pulling.

The Scaredy Cut set comes packaged in a little box with instructions, perfect for holiday gift giving. The set is available from Amazon for $25 with free shipping. Get more information and watch the demo video at www.ScaredyCut.com.

November 27th, 2010 at 7:30 pm
Wow! I wish I would of found this before I bought the electric clipper that I cannot use on my cats because they are scared of the noise it makes.

These seem great! We would love to trim our cat in the summer because he gets so hot with his long hair, but I know he would absolutely go nuts with an electric trimmer!

My little puffball could use this!
November 28th, 2010 at 7:29 pm
My youngest Maine Coon is more interested in playing than grooming! This tool looks like it might help remove, in a low-stress way, any mats before they get too large.

This has got to be the most brilliant grooming equipment ever. I’m glad someone’s taken into consideration the fact that cats require grooming/clipping but are scared of the clippers.

Both my cats are recovering ferals, and scared of just EVERYthing, but my little girl is a long hair, and this would be wonderful for her bloomers, which sometimes seem very hard for her to groom.

Many of us often wonder about the origin of certain phrases and descriptive terms – but I think most feline owners know first hand how the term “Scaredy Cat” came to be…
Actually we have two kitties and one LOVES to be groomed – a little too much… but the other, the normally more “assertive” male is a true SCAREDY CAT when it comes to any kind of grooming assistance. As he gets a little older and chubbier, he’s starting to need a little more care for his hair/fur… Thanks!

I too have a “scaredy cat” and would love to have something to groom him with that will not traumatize my poor baby! This seems like the ideal grooming system. I’m sure I as well as many other cat owners will enjoy using this tool to groom their pets without trauma. I have thought of taking him to the groomer, but alas, I am sure the experience would give him major trauma and after all, who wants to give their kitty a heart attack!! I know of a great rescue shelter that could use one too!!
March 8th, 2011 at 2:52 pm
I saw this perfect tool for cats, but since I have a small dog (teacup yorkie) who is afraid of everything this would be perfect.

This looks amazing. My cat is a long haired terror and I’d love to be able clip her wooly pants at home:)
April 26th, 2012 at 12:34 pm
what a great idea! my long-haired boy gets mats so easily, and he hates being brushed, it pulls on his fur and he runs away in seconds. i had him shaved once but the mats came back even while his fur was still growing out. in MN shaving him year round isn’t an option!

PURFFFFECT SOLUTION! I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ONE!
August 31st, 2012 at 5:18 pm
I had one from Amazon.com
Its useful life I experienced was one long-hair cat cut then that it! After the cutting, my barely long-haired cat look like a curly-haired cat, which was very funny and cute looking.
