When the iPad first came out, you might have seen the YouTube video Iggy Investigates an iPad. Well, the designers over at Little Hiccup were inspired by Iggy’s antics and created an iPad game just for cats. You can choose laser pointer or mouse and let the chase begin. Kitty can even try to beat her own high score. Now that sounds like a really good reason to get an iPad for Christmas!
The new iPad game for cats can be downloaded for free from the Apple iTunes store.

Expensive cat toy . . . I don’t think so.

I would be afraid of kitty claw scratches even though I know they are supposed to be scratch resistant.

Well, for those who can afford, it sounds like fun, but did you know that Apple has an app that promotes abuse? It’s called, “Talking Tom” and all of us in the cat-loving community are justifiably livid over it; many of us won’t buy Apple products because even though we’ve signed petitions, Apple has not withdrawn this odious app.

I didn’t care at all about an iPad before; now I want one. Like MyKinKStar said, though, it’s too expensive to buy just for a cat toy. I also wonder what my cats’ claws would do to the screen. They’re not at all careful about who or what they scratch.

How funny!

anything for the kitties

I just downloaded it and my one cat loves it! Everytime the mouse runs ” offscreen” she tries to look under the iPad. She even hissed at the mouse once. My other cat is sort of a wimp and ran away the first time the mouse squeaked! He does seem interested in the laser pointer level though, but he hasn’t tried to hit it yet.

Hilarious! Though, you’d definitely want your cat to have been de-clawed….

Don’t declaw cats -it’s like cutting your fingers off!

Don’t forget to apply your screen protectors!

This is essentially the same as buying your cat a $500 toy. Dumb.

Please do NOT declaw your cat if you truly love it. That horribly cruel and unnecessary operation should have been outlawed long ago. People who do this often end up with a cat that won’t use the litter box or it starts to bite because of the trauma.

Haha, that’s so cute. I was in bed with a cold last week and I was watching a movie on my iPod when my kitty sat down next to my pillow and started watching with me and pawing the screen trying to “get” the tiny people in the iPod! I’ve never seen her do this before, it was hilarious!
To everyone worried about the cats scratching the glass: I don’t think a cat’s claws could damage it, it’s got a special coating on it unlike regular glass. Especially if the cat’s claws are trimmed (not declawed!!) I think it would be fine to let kitty play with it for brief periods.
Now, as far as buying an iPad *just* for your cat? I don’t think so!

I bought an iPad after watching Iggy but my cat is not amused by the noby boy app. This app is different. It totally captures what ticks a cat and my cat enjoys it! The mouse level is reallyt fun, with wiggling tail and a loud squeak whenever it’s caught. Oi manages to score 2300 on his first try!
I have videoed it too

Hmmm. Cute app but I don’t know if I can support this with the Talking Tom app out there. Hideous evil app. How about making one with Steve Jobs’ image instead? -_-
Then again….if this is a gift…..
Our charity is http://www.fffcatfriends.org/
Thanks.

Some of these comments amaze me. Do you really think that the creators of this app made it as a goal to have people buy iPads? Nooooooooo……it is just another app (likes thousands of others) put out for people who already own the product. Which we do, so we of course downloaded it for our kitties.
The app is free btw.

My Cat loves the one called “Cat “Games”. I heard about it on the Touch Arcade Podcast.
