Jayne, designer of the beautiful retro cat beds from Like Kittysville, created these awesome climbing shelves in her garage using only scrap lumber, some of which she pulled right out of the dumpster. It goes to show that a creative design and some white paint can transform old scraps into a sensational kitty playspace!
The green fabric designates the kitty climbing shelves with storage above and below. The two kitty staircases are connected by a loft, shown below, that’s covered with soft padded blankets. Jayne says this is the cats’ favorite hangout spot. I’m sure they love it!

First glance, I thought the photos were of a rather large closet because the area looks so nice. Garages are usually functional but ugly spaces but not this one!

Amazing. How cool is THAT? Love DIY catspaces. With lofts=extra points.

Love that loft! Now my wheels are spinning……where in my apartment can Francesca have her own loft??????

Both my cat’s love to perch in high places and that loft is a cool idea. One of my cats, when I’m not looking, often gets up above the cupboards in our kitchen. Not the most ideal of places.
Having a garage loft like that would be a great alternative. I’m studying the photos closely. Summer project?

So very cool! It reminds me of the Japanese cat houses (or houses with cats in mind), without the contractors!

This is a DIY site why can’t I find prints or Do it yourself direction on how to build some of these systems. For example The support free wall shelves for cats to climb. Thanks for your help.
