I love the new glossy white litter hider from Modern Cat Designs. It would also make a nice bed or side table. Perfect for an ultra-glam Hollywood Regency interior. Available now from moderncatdesigns.com for $197 plus shipping.

yay moderncat! will you design something stylish for the litter robot as well?

Just ordered one in brown…hope it is as nice as it looks! Looking forward to the finish, as the one from the refined feline has not held up well to “overspray”, or claw scratches either!

It looks gorgeous in the picture!

I love the idea of using a litter hider. But,I have an huge issues with my cats tracking litter everywhere. Does using a litter hider help with that? If so, I could really justify the cost! If not, does anyone recommend a style of box that is particularly helpful with litter tracking?

Hi Beth,
I was wondering if you’ve been happy with the litter hider and how the construction quality has held up. Thanks so much!

Beth,
The ModKat Litter Box is known for greatly reducing the litter tracking and looks great, it is a top entry litter box. Hope that helps!
Cheers!

I have this one in brown, but I use it as a pet bed because my cats are trained to use the human toilet
…I love this design and if my cats were not trained this looks so much better than a normal litterbox!!! Love it!

Helen,
How on earth did you train your cat to use a human toilet? I’m getting a Ragdoll cat at the end of this month so this would be perfect!

After the Modkat turned out to be a miserable failure with one of our two cats, we bought this Modern Cat Designs litter hider in white. The problem we had with the Modkat was that it was too small for our overweight cat to use with the top-entry. Wary of spending more $$$ on a cat box, yet sick and tired of the same old unattractive litter boxes we decided to give this one a try.
Putting it together was super easy. If you’ve ever put together Ikea furniture, its similar.
Speaking of Ikea, instead of buying a regular litter pan, we found the Antonius 13 gallon plastic drawer. With a hacksaw, we carved out an entry way to match that of the litter hider. It was cheaper than buying a regular litter pan, and it has high sides that keep the occasional urine spray off the hider walls, and fills up most of the interior.
I immediately loved the glossy white color. Our Modkat had been red and it would be great if this litter hider eventually came in the glossy red color too. We went with white because it would be easy to see messes for clean up. I actually keep a decorative box and magazines on top, which has kept the cats from jumping up there with dirty paws. We have it facing away from anyone being able to see right into it if they were to walk by, so it kind of looks like a piece of furniture rather than a litter box.
Needless to say, there isn’t a solution for reducing litter tracking. Until someone comes up with a stylish litter box that reduces tracking AND works for overweight cats, this has been the best item on the market for us.

Bought this in brown. Super easy to construct, well made and attractive. My cats took to it immediately and it has reduced, albeit not eliminated, tracking considerably.
I would recommend this product to everyone.
