We have a new favorite lounge spot at home: The Scratch Lounge. Ando recently had a chance to give it a test drive (thank you, Scratch Lounge!) and he is quite impressed. The shape of the Scratch Lounge is just perfect for kitties to plop down in, with thick corrugated cardboard surfaces on the bottom and on two sides, creating a cardboard nest. The other great design feature is that all three cardboard pads (bottom and both sides) are reversible, so it’s like getting two loungers in one. And when it’s really done, the whole thing is recyclable.
The Scratch Lounge is made in the USA in Chicago, Illinois using all safe materials including non-toxic wheat-based glue to adhere the cardboard pieces together. And besides being a great product, The Scratch Lounge is made by a great company. A full 10% of profits are donated to The Amanda Foundation Mobile Clinic, which provides low-cost spay/neuter services specifically to the poorest communities of Los Angeles.

Not only does the Scratch Lounge contribute to The Amanda Foundation, but they regularly participate generously in lots of animal rescue programs and fundraisers, like the recent aCATemy awards adoption event where every cat received a free Scratch Lounge, and the HSUS Genesis Awards. The people behind the Scratch Lounge truly have the welfare of the animals in mind as part of their business plan! Stay up-to-date on the latest Scratch Lounge activities on their Facebook page.

Ando looks so much like my beloved Kiddo, I miss him greatly, but our new little Pip also loves ripping up cardboard boxes as well as sleeping in them. She has a scratching post , but still likes scratching chairs and cabinet doors. Sassy little thing. Maybe this would be the perfect scratcher for her.

I’m beginning to think I can’t win for trying on this site, but I love my cats and am not giving up!! Times are tough everywhere and lately it’s been harder to get my cats new toys. My littlest one LOVES his scratching toys or anything he can scratch and play with. He would adore the Scratch Lounge! Please choose me!

My puss Herm has just had three teeth pulled out – a lovely new toy to get his claws stuck into would really cheer him up!

I know my old girl, Tawn, would love this. She loves catnip. Even though she’s not as steady on her feet as she used to, she still loves to do a “spurt” of play every once in awhile. Of course, it’s not as long a spurt as it used to be and she still stops and sits pretty looking around to see that no one caught her doing it. She’s a lady after all and ladies don’t do that kind of thing…

Fantastic, my kitties would love this!

Our cat, Nemo, ABSOLUTELY LOVES this thing. The best part about it is that most cats don’t really use the side ones much, but scratch the bottoms ones a TON, so you can swap out the side and bottom panels and it is like getting FOUR scratchers in one. Nice!

Buddy And Little John LOVE cardboard–not just for scratching, but for cleaning their teeth. They chew on the cardboard so much that the vet says they don’t need teeth cleaning! They would just adore one they could lay, scratcth, and chew at the same time.
