When I first wrote about The Cat’s Trapeze, it was a huge hit! Everyone who owned an active cat or a kitten immediately saw the usefulness of this unique product. The Cat’s Trapeze was designed specifically to provide active cats with an alternative to climbing the curtains and furniture. The sturdy cotton fabric withstands heavy use and the soft cushions provide a perfect place to nap.
The Cat’s Trapeze was designed by Esther Van der Wurff and is manufactured by Van der Wurff Produkties in The Netherlands, so shipping costs to get one in the US or Canada have been pretty high. Well, that’s about to change! The original Cat’s Trapeze will now be available in the US and Canada through CatsTrapeze.us. This partnership with Van der Wurff Produkties is a new offering under Moderncat Distribution LLC, a division of my company, Moderncat Enterprises LLC.
The Cat’s Trapeze is available in two styles, the 2-pillow for $75 US and the 3-pillow for $90 US. When you purchase the Cat’s Trapeze from CatsTrapeze.us, you will receive the cotton cover only; you provide the stuffing for the cushions. The trapeze cushions can be stuffed with throw pillows (we recommend the Gosa Slan pillows from Ikea, or something similar), or you can use newspapers, old towels or recycled clothes for an eco-friendly twist.
Be the first to get your trapeze by pre-ordering now for June 1 shipping. Shipping charges for orders in the US are just $10 for the first trapeze and $5 for each additional trapeze. For orders going to Canada, it’s just $15 for the first trapeze and $5 for each additional.

looks cool but sad to say think it would terrify my cats they are such fraidy cats, not an adventuresome soul in the lot of them.

I like the idea of stuffing the pillows with old clothes because when the cat gets to curl up with their favorite human’s scent it makes them extra happy (it works that way with my kitties! :*).

How wonderful, Kate! This is something just about any cat would enjoy, it’s practical, washable, AND affordable, even! Wow!

Now I just have to sit here and (not so) patiently wait for availability in Australia.

People with skittish cats: It has been shown scientifically that wild animals will promptly explore some new item IF they already felt secure in that area. If they are under stress, feel pressured, etc., they will wait a looong time before examining some new object.
The comment about smell of a favored human is totally correct.

I’d love to see my cats try to climb onto it. I can totally see my cats trying to get the top cushion.

I love this idea! I have an adventurous, 8 month old kitten that loooves to climb all over everything! I’m sad to say that thew cat trapeze isn’t in my current budget, but I’ve decided to make my own, pretty turquoise version. Fingers crossed that it turns out!
