Belgian designer Corentin Dombrecht obviously paid close attention to cat behavior when he created this modular bookshelf that accommodates both books and cats. The system is based on three different modules and, depending on how you stack them, you can create little stairways for kitty to climb among the books all the way to the top where there is a built-in cat bed. Brilliant!
The stairway can run along the front of the bookshelf or it can be hidden behind the books against the wall. There are two styles of bed on the top: raised or sunken.
It looks like this is just a design concept that isn’t available for sale anywhere yet, but I think it’s a terrific idea! Check out the video below to see the Cat Library in action (if you can’t see the video below in your email, click here to watch it on the site.)

I want this to be made! It helps solve two of my space problems- my cats and my books! Both felines tend to perch on my bookcases if they can, making a mess. This is really is fabulous. It doesn’t look like pet furniture, which is a bonus!
