Modernist Cat just released two new retro-cool cat litter hideaway designs. The first one, shown above, is their new Litter Hideaway Circa50, modeled after Paul McCobb’s Planner Group Collection. It has simple clean lines with a grasscloth front and hinged side door for easy access. Very nice!

The second addition to their mid-century modern inspired line of litter hiders is the Litter Hideaway Station which fits automatic jumbo litter pans and helps prevent tracking.
Both can be fully customized with a variety of finishes and details. Design your own at ModernistCat.com.

The litter hideaway station has my vote. I like the wood, and the pad for sitting is always a good thing!!

Gee, I love these, especially if they came with the Sphynx.

I would get this and use it as a nice hide away for my cats to sleep in. The thing I don’t like about these is they trap odors so if you are gone half the day and can’t empty the litter box often or your cat goes over the edge of the box, which is unavoidable, it will be difficult to get rid of the odors. I could see my cats really enjoy it though to take naps in.

I just read their website $350 and it’s made out of plywood! Um, I’ll pass thank you.

I love both of these designs, though not necessarily for the purpose they are intended. And yes, I’d love a Sphynx with mine, too

While they’re nicely designed, you should NEVER ever cover a cat’s litter. The dust from the litter can cause serious lung issues for the poor animals. Our own comfort and desire to hide their “bathroom” should never come before what is actually healthy for the cat.

I also love the the bottom one, the other is really beautiful but, grasscloth? really? My crew would have that destroyed in no time.

@ Bev Interesting I did not know that … hmm
Generally they’re nice but I don’t like that the entry is high. A sick or old cat would probably not be comfortable with it.

I am positively salivating over the Circa50! It’s not easy to find things that really sing with my retro mid-century decor but that baby would really take center stage!

Classic!
