If you’re a Moderncat fan in the Los Angeles area, then this is an event you won’t want to miss! Next Wednesday, May 25 from 6 to 8 pm, I’ll be at the fabulous pet boutique Pussy & Pooch, in downtown LA for their monthly Meow Mingle Cat Social. If you’ve never been to Pussy & Pooch, this place is a must see! They have tons of fabulous modern cat merchandise and an amazing selection of natural food and other pet supplies. Cats are certainly welcome at the event, but not required, and kitty can get a complimentary nail trim while she’s there ($10 value).
Moderncat Studio is providing goodies for door prizes, plus there will be refreshments, special treats, and in-store specials. Bring your kitty, or come sans cat, and hang out with fellow Moderncat enthusiasts!
I’m also very excited that Jackson Galaxy, cat behaviorist, will be there, too! Jackson’s new show My Cat From Hell on Animal Planet is the greatest show ever! The first two episodes blew me away! Jackson has an amazing way with both cats and people. This show will really help a lot of cats enjoy better lives. Come and meet Jackson in person!
There will also be a little memorial for the beautiful and beloved Pussy & Pooch mascot Frida who recently passed away. Frida was a huge part of the Pussy & Pooch family and she is truly missed.

Sounds wonderful, and I also think Jackson Galaxy is wonderful in how he deals with some, shall we say, VERY difficult people and their cat-loving friends. If I wasn’t imminently preparing to say goodbye to one of my own feline beloveds, I would have loved to be there.

Wow. Oh, wow…probably the first time in my life I wished I lived closer to LA (I grew up in Northern California)! I am a huge fan of My Cat From Hell (yes, after just two episodes) and Jackson is my new hero. I wish that Jacoby and I could go to this party so we could meet Jackson and check out the shop! Will you post photos afterwards?

I think it’s really sad that people are invited to bring their cats along. Cats are quite territorial and bringing them to an event like this means STRESS!! AS a cat behavioral biologist, I would strongly recommend to leave your cat at home and enjoy the beautifull designs yourself.

Where can you purchase the adorable canopy bed at the bottom of the presentation? It’s a C shape and looks to be made of wood with a white faux fur bed and beautiful white kitty asleep in it.

Wish that I lived in LA, too, because I am a big fan of My Cat From Hell, and would love to meet Jackson Galaxy in person! He has such a wonderful rapport with both cats and their human companions! Jackson, since you are from New York City, if you ever do an event in New York City, please let us Northeast cat people know!

Was watching Jackson Galaxy’s shows this weekend. Jackson had one couple turn an open space in their living room into a cat walk. I think it was for the kitty “Duff”. There was a wall mounted climber that appeared to be wicker on one side of the wall. Can anyone tell me more about that attractive climber?

I was also looking for the wicker cat tree from the show with “Duff”. I went to Ikea’s website and couldn’t find cat trees at all… Any help is appreciated.
