Apparently we were onto something with our cat hairball jewelry! It turns out that others are doing it, too. Jewelry designer Flora Davis has created some pieces using fur from her gorgeous flame point Ragamuffin, Gaia, whose super soft white fur looks just like cotton.

Read an interview with Flora over at Catsparella and check out Flora’s cat hairball jewelry in her Etsy shop.

For a hairball, this looks very amazing, but I would still have to pass up on this one because I am allergic to cat hair.

Beautiful! But perhaps better to call them cat hair jewelry? While they are ball shaped, they aren’t hairballs (which would just be plain icky!)

I have a lovely medium-haired Flame point, too, and find myself thinking hmmmm…. I’d rather wear him around my neck than on my pants and sweaters as I now do! Your necklaces are lovely and inspired.

I do not even know what to say to this idea…Un-necessary!

Gorgeous jewelry! Never has a Furminator been put to better use.

I occasionally buy Japanese craft books from several sellers on Etsy and eBay (I don’t read Japanese, but I’ve found the directions are usually illustrated well enough I can follow them without needing the written part).
I was kind of amused to see your post today about cat hair jewelry because the last couple books I’ve bought were on making jewelry and toys from your cat’s fur (Goodness knows with four cats, I have more than enough for any project
)
I’ll link to several of the books on etsy. Unfortunately, you can’t see all the craft projects but the seller does post several pages from each book…

I am wondering how you make them exactly and how they hold together? I see wire wrapped around one above, but you’d have to wrap string or something to hold them together and how do you get them so tight looking?
